Lala Gourmet Reviews
I visited this restaurant while visiting KC and to my pleasant surprise the chefs were native from my home town in Venezuela. Amazing traditional flavor I had not tasted in years!! Had the Chivo en Coco and Mondongo soup. Pastelitos and tequeños were all superb. I wish they were closer to home to visit them every day.
Delicious Venezuelan & tropical food! Is too close my home with every plate.
Absolutely como back for sure!

This is my first time coming, I came at around 6pm on a Friday. There was almost no one there which is usually a bad sign. But I've never had an empanada before and I really wanted them. I'M COMING BACK.

Lala Gourmet is a locally owned restaurant serving Venezuelan cuisine. The chefs are native to Venezuela, and the traditional flavor is amazing. The Chivo en Coco, Mondongo soup, Pastelitos and tequeños are all superb. The Shredded Beef Empanada and Ground Beef Pastelito are both excellent: fresh, hot, well seasoned, crispy and well cooked dough, served with a delicious sauce. The pork and ham sandwich has double fried platanos instead of bread. The Patacón de Filet de Pollo (Chicken Filet Patacón) and the Patacón de Lomito (Skirt Steak Patacón) come in generous portions. The black beans are definitely a family recipe. The food is incredible, seriously — very tasty, interesting, and prepared perfectly, with big portions and great flavor. It is a great, lively place with a warm, inviting feel. The staff and service are fantastic, very welcoming and helpful, and the owner and staff are very hospitable. A party of 12 was accommodated well, and the wait staff did a great job. Food is ordered at the counter and it came out fairly quickly. There is music on the big screen, so it is nice to sit and visit during the short wait. Complimentary French fries and different slices of desserts were served to celebrate, and several kinds of cakes and desserts came with candles for the birthday girl, along with several versions of the Birthday Song on the video and sound system. Most of the staff speaks only Spanish, but the menu on the website has buttons that allow you to switch the text back and forth from Spanish (Es) to English (En). It is an outstanding introduction to Venezuelan cuisine, and guests will be back for regular meals as well as special occasions.
