E love Ariake! One of our fave places. But last night was not quite at the level we've come to expect.

Second time to visit and just as wonderful. The appetizers were so tasty: fried shrimp, negimi, bacon wrapped tomatoes and tuna “cigars”. Each one a wonderful flavor. The lobster garlic noodles, fried rice, sea bass (the BEST we've ever tasted) were each consistently superb. We're from out of town, but always try to make a reservation when visiting Springfield.

The location is beautiful; however, the food and service were not great. First, we left a message for the restaurant where we were celebrating birthdays, but no one acknowledged it. They seated us in the bar area, assuming they were preparing for close, and the service was very slow. The flavors combined with the nigiri were not well-executed and lacked appeal. Won't return and definitely would not recommend.

Gavin was awesome! Great time and venue... food was one of the best sushi meals we have had in quite some time!

My son and I visited for the first time last week since we have been searching for the best place in Springfield he can take his prom date.

Ariake will easily be his choice. The ambience feels like you are not even in Springfield anymore and so do the food choices.

Bryce was excellent at explaining the options, making my son feel at home and comfortable, and at providing recommendations. Could not have asked for a better experience.

The A5 hot rock and Miyazaki steak were out of this world and worth every penny. We’ve both never been happier to have stains on our shirts before.

Must visit!

Food and Drinks:
I had the Chirashi and the Miso soup with draft Asahi.
I really like Asahi, and it tastes even better on draft.
The Miso soup was good—nothing extravagant, but solid.
The fish was amazing; the last time I had fish of this quality was in Düsseldorf, Germany, which is home to the largest Japanese community in Europe.

Service:
The staff were polite, perhaps even overly eager to serve. They asked almost every minute whether we needed anything or if the food was good. I’m not used to that level of attentiveness in Europe.

Ambience:
The design is beautiful, though the build quality doesn’t quite match the high level the place aspires to (see images).
The men’s restroom lacks a functional toilet brush and a second toilet lid—so when flushing, water from the toilet gently sprays around as an aerosol.

It's the only fine dining establishment in Springfield that actually delivers on food, service, and ambiance. It's worth the price, unlike many other places in town

The food is always good. Still exceptional quality and presentation of the food. However, our waiter had more than he could handle that night and wasn't as attentive as usual. For the first time ever, we ordered jumbo shrimp and never got it. But overall, it's still one of my favorite restaurants in the Springfield, MO area.

It was my first visit and we sat at bar. The best service and so helpful and comfortable.

Everything was killer, we had a Scallop appetizer that was very tasty as well as brussel sprouts and a very spicy tuna roll (they added the spice for me)! My friend had a Bento box and loved everything in it! 5 Stars! Would love to try dinner!

Hands down the best sushi, omakase and sake selection in the Midwest! Prices are high but it will be an unforgettable experience. The only omakase experience to compete with this place was a sushi restaurant I ate at in Miami.
Sake selection beats anyone in the Midwest, even liquor stores. I got the Harmony and it was excellent for the money.
The staff is very attentive and precise.
If you have a liking for grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken nuggets, don't bother. This place is for the refined palate and those who don't cringe at unfamiliar ingredients as the chefs here pair flavors that make it an unforgettable experience!
Hope I helped.

Best sushi in Missouri for sure, if not the Midwest! Won't find a better selection of sake anywhere except maybe La, Chicago or Miami.

My first experience at Ariake was diving right into the Omakase experience! Hands down the best experience in Springfield. If you love Sashimi, Nigiri and having a top-rated sushi chef curate your meal, This experience is for you. Top quality ingredients, hand crafted wasabi and so much roe and caviar! Everyone involved in your Omakase experience is there for you and the service is of the highest of standards. Don’t forget the Sake pairing! It is worth it. Request a slow Sake pairing too! Chef Choi and Haley were such good stewards of Ariake too!
