Casper's is my favorite diner. I have been eating there about 15 years, started back in the original restaurant.
The food is excellent, my favorite is the double whammy- 2 burgers smothered with chili & cheese. Better go hungry if you plan on ordering that.
The service and staff is top notch. Friendly, timely, and efficient. It's a very comfortable setting and they don't make you feel rushed.

Really didn't enjoy having a mostly burnt smash burger sit down in front of me...The upside was the mushrooms, they came so hot I could hardly eat them, I guess ranch was extra, cause I sure didn't get any. The decor was bazaar to say the least. Will not be returning...

My husband and I visit Springfield pretty frequently because he used to live there. I had always wanted to try the original Casper’s location, but never got a chance. We stayed at an Airbnb close to Casper’s, and I insisted on trying it. It was amazing!! The service was great, the decor is cute, and the food is excellent! The burgers were fresh and delicious. The generous portions of fries were hot and very flavorful. And the people who work there were very nice and friendly. We ate there three times in the four days we stayed in town. Fantastic place to grab a bite!

Original Route 66 Diner in Springfield. Still original. Great smash burgers and onion rings. Lots of people have chili. Service is out of this world.
Excellent prices. Quick service too! Food temps were perfect, and ready to enjoy without any wait to cool off. It was delivered after order in a very short time. Regular hamburger was delicious, and has all the hallmarks of a diner burger. Soft buns, Shredded lettuce, a good sized patty with that griddle burger grease glistening on it. Mayo, onions, as pickles were on point! 🫠. Chili was yummy too. They have Diet Dr Pepper on tap!! I found a new regular place to eat. I recommend coming in at 11 before the lunch crowd hits. 👍

The burger was delicious, but the wait staff was even better. Go for the food, but definitely stay because everybody is so friendly even with a toddler having a midlife crisis meltdown
