I’m an Italian-American from South Philly, and I just moved here with my family.
This place does business well and their seafood market is phenomenal given how landlocked this state is. We could never have celebrated our Feast of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve without this place.

Let me start by saying this review is being written because of the OWNER not knowing how to properly coach his employees and decides to try to coach customers of what his employees are supposed to do. Second, Im a lobster roll connoisseur. Ive had a wide variety of lobster rolls and when I took my first bite out of a lobster roll from Seafood Express, it tasted OLD and SPOILED. I called the store immediately, I live in a different, otherwise I wouldve went back. I called to inform not requesting a refund. I told the manager that was working the story and HE OFFERED a refund to me. He said he couldnt do it tonight but he would leave a note and tell the employee that was working the next day. I call in advance to ensure there was a note and I wasn't going to drive an hour to get told im not getting a refund. The employee says yes theres a note to give me a refund. I show up and im told to wait. A random guy walks out the back, the employee hands him the note, points towards me. This guy doesnt introduce himself. Owning serveral businesses myself I know how to properly introduce myself. He should take a class!! He asked me whats going on. By this time, im extremely frustrated! How unprofessional?! Ask your employees whats going on before coming to ask the customer they may respond differently. After a few minutes of back and forth he decides to say that hes the OWNER. I even said i understand running a business is a lot and the guy corrects me and says he owns multiple businesses. You shouldnt own the one business let alone multiple if you dont know how to properly train your employees and learn how to talk to customers because this wouldve ended so much differently if THE OWNER had some actual sense to train his employees, especially when dealing with a customer escalation. The owner did give me a refund but only after explaing to me 3 times that the food industry doesnt give refunds on cooked food. SIR, explain that to your employees!!!!!!!! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! TERRIBLE FOOD!!!!!!

Stopped at the store to find lobster bisque for the holidays. Staff very helpful and store was amazing. It will be a regular stop!

Amazing food out of the kitchen and always the best selection of fresh seafood. Very nice people, always helpful with suggestions and cooking tips.

Thought I'd give this place a shot...WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY....SHRIMP WAS ALL MUSHY...AND THE PRICES??? ALMOST DOUBLE!!!! BEEN BUYING FROM THE HYVEE ON SUNSHINE....BETTER/ FRESHER AND WAYYYYY CHEAPER!!!!
Tried this place years ago and was disappointed for the outrageous prices and they FAILED!!! But looking at recent reviews....Thought I'd try them again.NOPE same old set hole!!! So try the hyvee on sunshine...they actually sell ALOT more than this dive....as we all know the more they sell....the fresher it is!!! Reviews look great....product is HORRIBLE!!! YOU WERE WARNED

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC FRESH SEAFOOD AND CAJUN! They have fresh oysters, crab and shrimp, brought back from Louisiana regularly. EVERYTHING you could ever want for seafood and Cajun. Lot of samples to try. And hot meals made to order if you want to eat there. Great customer service as well! I LOVE THIS PLACE...a definite must stop in Springfield!

Run to this store/ deli!! Not only is it the best food in town but also the friendliest staff. The abundance and variety of seafood will definitely impress you.

My first time was Wednesday of this week. And I am returning again with my mom today for lunch. My first visit was amazing, the little black girl in there was very helpful.
