There are a lot of good restaurants in Springfield, MO, but this one might not come to a person's mind at first, but it is a solid choice. We had several appetizers that we shared: the calamari, the gyoza, the Thai chicken skewers, and the crab rangoon pizza. Then we split a couple of burgers, french fries, and onion rings. And of course, we had a couple of creme brulee cheesecakes for dessert. This was a meal that each of us in our family got a little-of-this and a-little-of-that and we left completely full. All of the food was good. Service was very good. Atmosphere--not the most sophisticated look. But, it's workable. Our preference: wish that we didn't have the world of tv everywhere. However, this was a very good meal.
We drove from St. Louis to celebrate my sister-in-laws birthday. She lives in the Springfield area. We had lunch at Fire & Ice. None of us had eaten there before. Our son and daughter-in-law, also from St. Louis, recommended the restaurant. Our family remembers the restaurant and convention center from its older days as Howard Johnson's with its amazing swimming pool, always was a true family favorite. We were not disappointed. I had reservations and we were seated. It was nice to see that another group was also sharing a meal together with an acknowledgement of their shared experiences. A very large veterans group was also there. The food, service, and hospitality, was very good. The restaurant is nicely decorated. I remarked to my sister-in-law that I was excited to see her actually eat and enjoy a green vegetable. We shared the flash fried spinach as an appetizer. It was delicious and served with a very nice presentation. Getting ourselves to this nice meal was difficult. And, my sister-in-law made the same error we made by first going to the Oasis Hotel just outside the gate to the convention center. As she has numerous health issues and great difficulty walking this was a much greater concern and challenge for her than it was was us. Any additional signage would no doubt be of great help to anyone who has not been there before. We will definitely return to Fire & Ice on a future visit to Springfield. Our next trip we will remember to enter through the guards gate first!

Very cool restaurant. Open kitchen that produces some excellent food. Had dinner 2 nights in a row and both meals were superb. Great service as well and not overpriced as is the case at most hotel restaurants. I recommend the Pad Thai bowl. Their version is simply delicious and spicy at the perfect level.

The food is good. My disappointment is when I ordered the fire and ice bowl and I said I wanted no meat but asked for tofu. There was a four dollar up charge for the tofu, even though I didn’t ask for any shrimp or chicken. When the tofu came to the table, there was only four pieces so it was a dollar for a tofu.
The food was expensive and not good. The service was slow and unfriendly. Will not go back.

It was rather busy when we stopped, but we received our appetizer and entrees very quickly. Our server was fantastic and the food was delicious.

Stopped in for a quick lunch, I got the crab pizza. It was a little smaller than I expected and the waitress told me the mix the crab meat into the cheese. It was tasty and hit the spot so I'm satisfied. I'll be back for those fish tacos and a couple drinks next time I'm through

Very nice ambience. A welcome change from stand alone restaurants. Our server was attentive. Nice menu with varied options.

This is a nice restaurant but the meals my guests and I ordered were all very disappointing. Pad Thai, chicken fried ribeye and 4 different Asian bowls were all underwhelming in terms of taste. There was plenty of food, but just not very tasty.
What I loved... The food was really good. I had a Cesar salad and the chicken kabobs as my meal. both are on the appetizer menu. Very generous portions! Service was also excellent. What was not great... This restaurant is in a boutique hotel, and the restaurant adjoins the pool area. Nice view, but there were a couple of kids running from the pool and into the dining area in their wet swim suits and just being kids. That is not the atmosphere that we were expecting based on the restaurant description. We were there for a more relaxed romantic dinner. so that didn't really work out
Always a great experience and Michael at the bar is the best! 👍

Overall a solid good. Dark ambiance, medium to slow server response. Good recovery techniques. Friendly. I would give them a second try. Avoid the sirloin Steak au poivre. Very tough and flavorless piece of meat. The sauce was fair to good though not quite traditional sauce but ok. The side salads are huge, half a regular entree salad. The Asian one was good. All in all give it a shot and make your own decisions.
6 years coming here. Rob Low knows how to do it and do it right.
Thank you and
God bless.
