Portions were laughably small. The cannelloni meat was blistering out of its tubing as if microwaved and the shell was crunchy. And worst of all the Zappa soup was 1/2 and inch in a small bowl with 1 little teaspoon full of sausage and crunchy kale. There’s a lot more, but I think I made my point. Don’t go here please!

It's crazy. I was thinking about this place today. I went there. Probably 25 years ago or longer when I was little. This is one of the only happy memories I had as a child. I used to love going here and our server Adam we had everytime was so amazing.! I still remember my order. The vegetarian fettuccine with red sauce and add chunks of chicken. I googled this place today Because I wanted to see the photos. I even met the governor when I was little at this place. Which was so cool to experience as a child. I'll never forget the food at this restaurant. I wish I could eat there one more time. The owner of the restaurant is top notch and always took care of us. ❤️

I suspect the pasta is not house made, which is a damnable offense in a true Italian kitchen in my book. Ordered a high priced wine and got glassware that could survive a drop from a 10 story window to drink it out of. Table placement is suspect as our reservation was early (5:45) and the house was clear but still got seated at a small table in the middle of the "highway" while the floor boards beneath us bent as every staff member walked by that shook the table. I guess that sometimes just because something is expensive does NOT make it good in the case of our experience here. It's a shame, we really wanted fine Italian.

Me and my husband wanted a date night and we came to this restaurant. We definitely do not recommend. My husband got major food poisoning the next day. His pasta looked like dog food and my steak was well done when I ordered medium rare. Nothing had much flavor.

I rarely post reviews but since we live locally and Saturday's (1/13/24) experience was so disappointing I feel I must...plus I hope James reviews it. First I want to state it's one of our favorite Italian restaurants (been going for 20+yrs with Nicola too) and we'll certainly go back BUT I must say, think again about going on a symphony night! I thought I would try the fish special which was salmon with a strawberry and something, something reduction served with risotto, which I found to be enticing...it wasn't. I purchase salmon at home from Wild Alaskan Co and get the very same "captain cuts" of coho and sockeye. My salmon was charred along the edges and dry. Hold the filet from any side and you could hold the entire filet above the plate. I was surprised that our waiter (Matthew) didn't inquire as to why my 1/2 eaten dish....was 1/2 eaten?! I was disappointed in the risotto too, extremely dry, must have been made that morning. I really looked forward to my merlot with my dish but it was as cold as the entire room so I had nowhere to bail to at this point. I think I'll return to my pasta love at Gilardi's and call it quits. I realize everything has risen in cost but don't make portions smaller and charge more for them. My Caesar salad had shrunk in size and is $11....really?! The salmon entree "special" was $54. My wife had a house salad and split a filet with our daughter, hot tea and coffee. Along with my 2 glasses of wine brought our entire tab to $160. +20% tip for just under $200 rockets, WOW!! The symphony was nice:).... PB

Quality of food and presentation 5 stars.Service has been slow the last few times we've been in, service (waiting staff) was questionable on our last visit 12/16/23. By questionable, I mean lacking in people skills. Overall atmosphere still excellent. BTW the Gilardi Pasta is 10 out of 10!

The food was good, most is locally grown/harvested so very fresh. The prices are high (reason for 4 stars), but you are paying for the "experience" of fine dining and that's what you'll get.The waiter was very attentive and we never waited for anything.Overall it was good, but there are other places in town better.

Look, if you've been thinking about it, go. It's expensive, true, but so worth it! Our waiter Andrew was excellent. The marsala is the best I've ever tasted. It's a cozy intimate atmosphere, friendly, attentive & polite staff. The food was great from cocktails to dessert. Parking is a but limited so I'd recommend finding a spot on walnut, it's a very short walk from anywhere nearby really.

I've dined at this restaurant 4 times. My sister chose Gilardis for her birthday. The food was just okay. The salad was wilted lettuce. Not impressed. The bill was huge and they literally charged a sharing plate for the rack of lamb that the kids shared!! Probably will not go back.
