So so bummed at what Grad School has become. My husband and I would eat at the old location regularly when we lived in Springfield. We moved but whenever in town would try and stop by and get a bite to eat. We now have a family and were looking forward to eating with our kids here. Bad idea since it is now located inside a bar with a giant painting of a naked woman, not family friendly and just not the same vibe as the old place. I wish this place all the best but this was a bad move combining with the bar. We won’t be coming back and it feels really sad to be saying farewell to this restaurant that we loved so much.

It's the best burger place. I'll be there this evening for supper.

From the skateboard themed stickers plastering the walls, to the rocking 90's music, to the wall sized blackboard where they post their menu in a rainbow of neon chalk, to the dinner style seating perfect for a casual hangout, Grad School has a vibe that let's you step into the height of the California Punk movement. Defy the Man, feed your soul, and walk away with an experience you won't soon forget.

The Full Ride is one of the best burgers around. Get an order of wings (they're crisp and so flavorful), and then get the Full Ride. The place is very relaxed and a great foodie location.

All you need to get is the Full Ride. Best Burger in town, hands down!

I've come here since they opened and I have never had a bad meal. The environment is incredible especially with how the employees have fun with each other and the patrons.

Fantastic experience, fantastic food, the burger melts in your mouth and is full of flavor. Everything is made right in front of you. Awesome atmosphere, could sit for hours in there. Great service.

The atmosphere was really cool and the service was excellent! We ordered the Ali Baba (hummus) for an appetizer and it was delicious. I had the Codi Brah with fries that were seasoned perfectly, and my spouse had the Fit Chic. We both loved our meals and had a great time! What a cute place! Awesome eclectic flair and amazing atmosphere. Highly recommended for all.

Great food, amazing food actually. Love the place but when I call they never answer the phone. I have tried numerous times to call for a pickup order or to ask if they have the same hours of operations, no answer. Gladly give them my business any time, that is my only issue.

To preference this spot was closed down due to COVID-19 but there is a spot down the road called J.O.B.S which is owned by the same person and they decided the best way was to send Grad School on a "Summer Internship" to JOBS, which in it of itself is an amazing concept. They incorporated the Grad School menu into this restaurant and allowed patrons to select from either menu. I got the Full Ride while my fiancée got the tacos. Let me tell you, I am forever ruined with burgers thanks to the Full Ride. It was so simple yet so powerful with flavor, I could hardly put it down. Taking two smash burgers with bacon onions lettuce tomato and this cheese sauce was to die for. The tacos were amazing as well. To top it off they had these handmade fries with brown sugar and salt that were so good, you didn't even need ketchup. Rest assured if you ever find yourself in Springfield, MO make it an absolute necessity to stop off at one of these two restaurants and you will not regret it.

My wife and I travel all over the country and well we are foodies by heart. I have been a Google review junky for as long as I can recall. I mention all of this because I have written hundreds and hundreds of review, posted thousands of pictures and I bet I can count on one hand the restaurants I have left a five star review for. And the ones that I do leave five star reviews for have spent ten times the money Grad School has. Don't get me wrong Grad School is not perfect, but they are dam close. My wife and I were downtown for an event and I had heard of Grad School so we made the trip to check it out. The first thing that I will say is a negative for the restaurant is that it is a little hard to find and with all of the construction it can only be accessed from one side of the road. I think with larger sign placement and more word of mouth this won't be an issue long. As you pull into the street that Grad School is located on you will see that the next issue is parking, they share a lot with what appears to be tenant space above the restaurant. You can park in the rear of the restaurant or on the street and walk.Once you walk into Grad School you will see just why this establishment will not disappoint. We were greeted by Phil, I'm a huge fan of architecture so I engaged with him on the old building. He was glad to explain the decor was rescued from some local buildings and that the building itself used to be an old fire station. He showed me around as the restaurant was not bust when we first arrived and then helped my wife and I pick out our meal. Phil was a breath of fresh air and in my eyes one of the main reasons that the restaurant hit five stars with me. Phil and all of the staff embraces the name of the restaurant by telling it's guest that they are the professors and they are there to teach you everything they can. During out meal Phil did not go five minutes without checking in with us:- How is the food?- Making jokes.- Brining us more water.- Making certain things were cooked well.- And just small talk.Phil suggested that I get the Full Ride and my wife the Cuban. The menu is smaller so it was not hard to narrow things down. Let me tell you the menu is smaller because they excel at the entire thing! The hamburger was bursting with flavor and even the hand cut fries were excellent!Overall there was almost nothing that I could suggest they do differently. And the items that I would "complain" about were more advice and rather not "issues".- Larger parking- Larger signage- Large beer selection- Watch the songs on the radio as sometimes guests can have littler children. My wife and love it, but not all guests will.WE WILL ABSOLUTELY BE COMING BACK AGAIN VERY SOON!

The college atmosphere with great food. Usually super busy and space is limited, but it's definitely worth trying. Really great food and service.

Love the atmosphere here. One of the best burgers I’ve had in awhile.
