Not worth it. Breakfast Sampler is now $16 before tax, which you can make at home for $6. Unbelievable. Need to go out of business.

It was not busy and overall it was good.

Murray is the most rude, unprofessional person I have ever met. How he got the position as a manager is beyond me. We will never return.

Nov 24, 2025 at 3:46 AM. Restaurant wide open. Not a soul inside. Opened door several times to sound alarm. Nothing. 5 vehicles in parking lot. 3 running. One obviously asleep as driver seat laid completely back. 10 minutes later we left. Wow IHOP in Springfield! So rude and disrespectful. Traveled over 600 miles and can't get coffee, sandwich, nothing. Never again!

I am not certain what parallel dimension these negative reviews have crawled out of, nor what bleak psychic tundra the detractors inhabit. Perhaps they come from a world where joy has been outlawed, where pancakes are served without hope, and where the soul is fed only on the gray dust of human disappointment.

But here, in this IHOP, on this unassuming evening, I encountered something bordering on the miraculous.

I ordered the coffee-cake pancake combo — two eggs, one bacon, one sausage, hash browns, and an orange juice. A simple meal, yes, but simplicity can reveal the cosmic foundations of existence. The pancakes arrived like warm geological strata, sugared with the kind of sweetness that makes you remember childhood before the first disillusionment. The eggs, pristine, glowed with the quiet resilience of creatures that never lived to see the cruelty of this world.

Kelly and Hailey guided me through the experience like benevolent spirits of the American roadside. Their humanity, their small kindnesses, more than atoned for the Sisyphean atrocities I once endured at the IHOP in Boulder, Colorado — a place I speak of now only in whispers, as one might reference a failed expedition up K2, where many good men were lost.

This IHOP, in contrast, was alive. Hopping, you could say — though that word is too light for what I witnessed. A full theater troupe entered, radiant with the madness of performance, and the staff absorbed their entropy with grace. It was as if, in real time, they were turning the tide of positivity in the universe, defying entropy through the sacred ritual of service during the dinner rush.

Here, in the fluorescent glow and the aroma of frying batter, I found not despair, but a portal — a gentle opening in the fabric of the mundane, reminding me that sometimes, even in the vast indifference of the cosmos, breakfast-for-dinner can be a form of salvation.

I don't know what's happened to this location but it used to be my favorite. We went at 5 am when the place was mostly empty. I ordered a build your own omlette with sausage, bacon, jack cheese and peppers and onions and got an omelette with sausage and bacon and white cheese sauce and slivered grilled onions and tons of jalapenos. I don't eat jalapenos EVER. My son ordered a steak medium WELL and the steak got was barely grey and more and more raw the color set he got to the bone. It made him sick. The waitress had the cook remake my omelette and what I got this time was burn bacon and sausage links chopped in half wrapped up in egg with shredded cheese on top. We didn't even try to have my son's steak remade. The waitress never came back to refill our drinks or anything but she brought us our receipts saying she was going home early but she wanted the next waitress to see our receipts.we were already leaving still hungry and went next door to Mc Donald's.

Worse experience in a IHOP. Waitress was terrible. Food was less than average. Tables were wiped with a dirty towel. I'll never eat there again

My Friend and I are Veterans. We ordered the free Veterans breakfast. Our server was great! The food was great! We were asked what we wanted to drink and if we wanted cheese on our eggs. We said yes. However, when it was time to settle, we were charged outrageous prices for the drinks. I ordered 2 strips of bacon and was charged over $5.00! If we would've known the prices we were charged, we wouldn't have said yes. For 2 strips of bacon, 1 blueberry splash, 2 coffees, a waffle combo for my wife and orange juice, we were charged over $45.00. We could've gone to Dennys and got a REAL free meal for Veterans. To us, it seemed deceptive.

Food was not good. We splurged because we had gift cards. The the server couldn't figuire out how to run the gift cards. Said they were invalid
So we paid with a debit card. After checking the cards when we got home. She hadn't scatched the strip off on the back of the card. After getting home and following the instructions and checking them on the website the cards are fine. Called the restaurant and talked to the manager who was the server. I'm sorry and thankyou for calling was her response. Wont ever go back
