Blind search for "best gooey butter cake near me" and Julie's popped up first. I had a team meeting with folks from around the country and I'm a lifelong Stlouisan, so this was a test. Hands-down, this rivals anything I've ever had from the Lou and even my sweet grandma. Absolutely perfect! I even threw in a few raspberry cakes and those were a huge hit! Definitely will be back! We stopped in and had to try Julie's Cookies after having them at a birthday party! First off, they are huge, so one is like eating 4 cookies! I,.personally, tried the bars and wowsa!!!!!! I had a dark chocolate with coconut, and a milk chocolate with coconut and fell in love! Their cookies are good but those bars are the true bomb! Delicious! My husband has raved about these cookies for years. I just don't taste much flavor in them the last couple of times we've stopped in. They're still colossal cookies, but we bought a dozen and the only ones with any flavor were the PB-based cookies. The others tasted bland.
