The Stoddards. Lack of care, lack of quality and lack of availability. Shouldn’t be accepting patients they can’t even see for months.

had the worst experience we got in a room Waited almost an hour before anyone came in then the Dr that came in was so rude and dismissive then told me blood in the urine of a 2 month old is normal which absolutely is not and that his white blood count being up is normal even tho we were told it was high enough to be concerning of an infection by another doctor and that the only thing she was gonna do is a UA and then she came back in said everything is fine and said I'm referring you to a urologist which he already is scheduled to see at the end of April which she would've seen if she was actually looking at his charts. This was absolutely the worst experience I was not even given the chance to explain myself and tell her what the other hospital had found I brought my child here seeking better care and I'm completely disappointed in how we were treated I thought this was a children's hospital and I belive the doctor needs more training in compassion for parents and patients. The doctor we had was Dr. R Plate absolutely would not recommend.

If you want to wait hours and hours this is your place. They say you need a MRI but a doc needs to order it. Can’t get it ordered without seeing a doc. Can’t see a doc until you’re in the real ER not their “Turn and Burn” area. Um next time have a doc come out and order it so people feel like you are trying. Listening to the Nurse Emily loudly talk like you should be grateful to be allowed in here is shameful. Better people could help. 3 hours in the waiting room with burning pain and tingling. Not an emergency though.

I will never be returning to this ER. My son had been vomiting and had a high fever for 1 day resulting in a seizure. I am trained in identifying, recording, and how to properly handle seizures for my job. I work with individuals with seizure disorders. He has never had a seizure in his life, I knew it had to be because of the fever. I was less concerned about the seizure than him being very sick. I had been giving him over the counter fever reducers and keeping a close eye on him. His fever kept climbing even after fever reducers but it ranged between 100-101 so i thought it was manageable at home. After the seizure I took him in. By the time we got in his fever had finally broken. The nurse we had was very nice and seemed concerned. The doctor however, could not have been less concerned. She completely wrote me off asking why I thought it was a seizure in a condescending tone. I explained that his body tenced up with flailing arms and legs and that immediately after he was very disoriented and couldnt talk to me for 5 minutes after. She said she the seizure was too short to be concerned if it even was a seizure, and that we should be concerned if it lasted 5 minutes or more. She took one look at my 4 yr old and said he has a stomach virus. She also said that she isn't a kid person but she liked my son completely unprompted. Why is she working on a pediactric hospital ward if she doesn't even like children? She had a nurse bring him a popsicle and we were discharged an hour later. No tests or anything. At discharge the nurse told us to take our son to his PCP and tell them what happened, that we brought him here and that they did nothing and that she was surprised he wasn't swabed at all. We moved here 3 weeks ago, we haven't been able to get into a PCP yet which is why we sought out help at the ER. I really hope nothing is seriously wrong because they did not even look at him.

I was visiting from out of state when my daughter got hurt and I needed to have her hand stitched up. I was very upset and the staff here was wonderful. They brought in a ped life specialist to help my daughter (and me) through the process, they were extremely supportive and friendly. I felt that the check-in/triage/waiting process was pretty well managed and we had a reasonable wait time for the situation we were in. Being from out of town, we did have difficulty finding the entrance to the Emergency Room at night. The GPS did not take us the correct way and we had to drive around to find the entrance. But as far as the hospital itself, I would recommend my experience to anyone.

Horrible hospital for patients.

The worst wait experience in my life to do MRI scan for my 15 month kid. We drove all the way from Rolla, but they made us wait 3 more hours and my kid is starving and so hungry. Unbelievably careless MRI crew. Don’t take your kid to Springfield Mercy Hospital. Just DON’T

Someone I talked to in the billing department was great! They helped so much, were very kind, professional and thorough. Their name was Ibrahim and I appreciate their help!

Absolutely the WORSE hospital ER I’ve EVER seen. Took my 76 year old neighbor there in an ambulance. He has passed out for no known reason and had a head injury. We sat in the waiting room for 18-HOURS!!! No room, no doctor. Nurse came by every 4 hours to take vitals and that was IT. Felt like we were in a 3rd world country. Two older frail gentleman apparently from a nursing home kept asking for help to use the restroom. ZERO help or concerns. Both ended up soiling themselves. Young man with a broken leg was made to sit in a chair for nearly 5 hours before being seen. People coming in in ambulances were left in the waiting room for HOURS!!! Very very very poorly managed!!! 3 weeks later my neighbor got a bill for $1200 for sitting in a waiting room for over 18-hours. AVOID THIS HELL HOLE AT ALL COST!!!

I will never go anywhere else as long as I am in the area. Best hospital for my kids ✝️?

After last night no way! I was in an ER room for 20+ hrs. 11 hours without being checked by personnel. I eventually took off my heart and blood pressure monitor and waited another four hours before asking how my vitals had been. Oh great! How would you know and showed them the pile of cables. Once a great hospital but it’s not any better than a third world country now. I get it, the past two years have been brutal for them but don’t lie to the patients!

While sitting in the ER with my mother, I witnessed a nurse approach an elderly woman in a wheelchair. They "needed" her wheelchair and moved her to a chair. SHE HAD A BROKEN BACK! There is no excuse for this hospital to not have enough wheelchairs...and to do that to a lady in pain. SHAME ON YOU!!

Thank you to everyone on Floor 7 in the Peds unit for taking such good care of my boy! The nurses, the child life specialists, the ortho surgeon, the anesthesiologists... they were all amazing! ?❤

My son had to have a blood draw at Quest in the Whiteside building. You need to do an Undercover Boss thing there because the incompetence and flat out rude behavior would make for a great reality show. It is almost that unbelievable. While we were waiting, a nurse practically yelled at an old man for not knowing he was #12 on the check in kiosk. I've recently noticed and have been appalled by how elderly patients are treated when they don't have an advocate with them.
