Food was not great, really never is, but the hubbs likes the BES, so we go occasionally.
I ordered the Villa Bowl with pintos and got rice and guacamole I specifically asked NOT to have. I had gastric surgery and rice causes issues, I did not notice the rice until I'd eaten my fill because I was preoccupied with the grands.
Didn't check the bill, again preoccupied with grands, was charged $2 for the 2 tablespoons of guacamole, making my meal now $14.99.
Unfortunately, because of the rice I cannot eat it later. And I ended up sick because the rice swelling in my tummy.
Moral of the story, pay attention to what you're getting and paying for.

Worst food I’ve ever had. All 4 of us couldn’t finish our food. Our stomachs immediately started turning. Cheese is like paste. Salsa like ketchup. They brought me tortillas and they were dripping an outrageous amount of butter.

There are several Mexican villas in our town Springfield Missouri but I would say this has the best food and also the best service. Kind of Tex-Mex but always hot and served on a hot platter. The waitress was very attentive and very helpful.

my mom was there tonight with her 3 year old son and boyfriend. From the very beginning had terrible customer service. Got the wrong orders, the worker hit her toddler in mouth with the booster seat, barely was sorry about it as he was crying hysterically. I will never be going here again!

I hadn't been to eat at Mexican villa in 5yrs.its not at all what I remember, but then I remembered why I hadn't been in so long..the burrito enchilada style(full) is what me & my friend had & it comes w chips and your choice of lil salsa in small cup..the taste was good except for the salsa..it was terrible, the chips wasn't that great either. The salsa reminded me & looked like the taco sauce I've boughten before that's been cooked to death right out of the jar. I guess I like fresher food too much especially for the price of $34. That was 2 burritos and one soda, cause I had water. I just feel there gonna have to step it up to compete w a lot of other Mexican places for that price and the mediocre food

You know, I don’t generally ever review restaurants as it’s all very subjective, but today my wife and I had the misfortune of choosing to try out Mexican Villa in Springfield as we’ve read great reviews and let me tell you, it’s terrible.

The “salsa” is ketchup with some onions in it and is super sweet, the Spanish rice is from a box, the pinto beans are from a can, and there wasn’t a single Mexican person cooking on the grill.

I ordered the street tacos as everything else on the menu is some sort of enchilada dressed in redneck and looked like a heart attack on a plate. The carne asada had no Mexican seasoning, at all. Just steak bits cooked on the grill.

If you want authentic Mexican food, don’t go here. It’s nowhere close to real Mexican food.

If you want a sloppy enchilada type food with sweet ketchup stuff on it, go here.

On a positive note, the server was good and the food came out quickly

Overall, the single worst imitation Mexican place I’ve been to, in my life. We’ll never go back.
