Nakato Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant because the food is so bland and the portions are so small. The management is very rude too. Would not come back prices way too high for what you get. I would rather go to hinode.

*** One problem I have is the last four visits our cooks have been putting teriyaki on all the chicken as they are cooking it. I ordered chicken with shrimp but I did not order teriyaki. I did not want teriyaki and due to dietary restrictions I'm not supposed to have teriyaki but I was not even asked if I wanted teriyaki. I think guests should be given the option or even at least asked if we want teriyaki sauce put on our chicken while it is being cooked.

The sushi was amazing. Save your money on the habichi. The show was not good, and the steak and shrimp lacked flavor.

Very disappointed with the front desk host who was very rude to us and others. The young girls did fine, but the older blond hair lady was very off putting. I have been coming to Nakatos for over 25 years. She took our names as we entered. There were limited number of folks there. It filled up twice with larger parties being seated who came in after us. They did not have reservations. At two different times couples asked about their wait times. They had come in after us. We watched the couples leave in disgust. After an hour we inquired. She told us there was a 30 minute wait.

My husband noted that our names had been scratched off and moved to the end of the wait list. It was obvious what was happening. The hostess was catering to the larger groups without giving due consideration to smaller parties who came first. When asked about it she was dismissive, shrugged her shoulders and rude with her replies.

After being a loyal customer and being treated so badly I won't be eager to return. Honestly, the front of the house staff needs some help with protocol and how to treat customers. This older lady will drive away business for you and so many restaurants are having trouble surviving. We love Nakatos and think this staff member should be placed in accounting or back of house. She does not serve you well or your patrons as hostess.

We got there around opening and got right in. Hibachi chicken was delicious. Our chef was incredible. The sushi was a big hit!

Parking: Tons of parking.

Kid-friendliness: Our children love coming here and enjoy the show while eating great food.
