We were in Springfield for a basketball tournament. Unsure of where to dine, we discovered a well-known establishment and were thrilled to eat there with my family. Upon arrival without a reservation, we were seated promptly, appreciative of the kind service and the staff's remarkable knowledge. Everyone exhibited exceptional kindness, and as a discerning diner, I found the spaghetti, bread, calamari, salad, and all dishes outstanding. My husband ordered the fried lasagna, which was promptly delivered to our table, fresh and hot. The staff's kindness was impressive, creating an atmosphere I truly appreciate, and we intend to return. Thank you for hosting us and treating our family with such consideration, which means a great deal, as it appears to be a very popular destination! I loved that the owner brought out our food and spoke to his customers. This is one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to! Thank you, Nonna’s Italian Cafe.

So glad we tried this place! It wasn’t bad parking, or a bad wait for a Saturday night. Both of our meals were so delicious! We aren’t local but we will be back. I want to sit upstairs next time!

So, it definitely has a laid back vibe, the food is pretty good, customer service mid... It's not a bad place to go. Just not in the top 10 places I'd go regularly.

What a good Italian restaurant! Their eggplant lasagna, pizza, pasta, deep fried lasagna and tiramisu are so flavorful. Great portions and environment.

❗️The only reason why I don’t rate it 5 stars is because the bathrooms need some care and overall aren’t that clean, the toilets, the walls, the sinks need a better clean/ scrub and maintenance so the bathrooms don’t stink and generate a full pleasant service.❗️

This was a great Italian place. The bread and olive oil were awesome…… They give it free with entrees. I had the spinach salad and it was awesome along with the chicken parm.
Prices were on point and great for the serving size.

Made reservation Sunday 8/4/24 for my wife's surprise birthday dinner, food was really good, service was horrible. The guy Stevens idk what was his problem but his attitude sucks. Our whole party was not happy with his attitude but we all enjoy the food. Only reason why I gave 5 stars is not only the food was really delicious, and plus I know the owner Mr Croft. Hopefully Stevens was just having a bad night but still no excuses. He would've made more from our table that night than 18 percent gratuity was added on the tap. We will give it another try soon. Thanks again Mr Croft, food was really good.

Food is fantastic! Our server was knowledgeable and patient. The atmosphere is what you'd expect from a downtown Italian restaurant. A person can usually rely on leaving very satisfied when dining here. A special place for native Springfieldians.

Had a half spinach salad and thankfully had balsamic on the table to add and give it a little flavor. Smallest salad I've ever gotten for the amount it cost. Roasted ravioli was fairly average in flavor. Other family member loved the mushroom ravioli. It is fairly dim light (hard to see menu even in early evening and the seats are not exactly comfortable (wooden and in summer, you stick to it.) Waitress did a decent job keeping our drinks full.

Parking: Can parallel park up close or pay for garage a block away.

First time there, went early about 5 pm. The server came right away. Had happy hour beers, also brought out bread w/garlic & Parm. cheese. The food was excellent. I had the shrimp scampi, hubby had deep-fried lasagna. Had enough for leftovers the next day. I could see that it might be noisy later when crowded. That is just the old building.
