Went down with my family the other day and asked for a drink, I looked over and seen this fella named Quinn I believe spit in my drink. Absolutely unbelievable. Will not be coming back anytime soon.
So, the bottomless coffee alone makes Panera 5 stars, but they have amazing customer service, and their food is both unique and exceptional. (A bit pricey, but worth every penny.)

Paid $30 for #6 very small croissants. They were dense, not flaky, thrown in a plastic bag, and overall very poor quality. Not their usual product as we have had them before. Will not buy from them again due to the poor quality.

Maybe I'm biased because I remember when the St. Louis Bread Company first started and the quality was insanely good. I got the pick 2 Toasted Italianio sandwich and the Balsamic Chicken Greens with Grains to go. First of all the sandwich was mediocre. In Springfield the best place for an Italian sandwich is the Queen City Deli. I'll go there next time. The salad had limp lettuce and a teeny tiny amount of dressing and gobs of grains which went into the trash. The final cost was just over $17 which is crazy. For $14 I could have gotten a Muffaletta at Queen City Deli which is big enough for two people. Or I could have had the Southside Sicilian for just under $9.00. Both of those sandwiches are insanely good.
Panera needs to up their quality if they want those prices. I'm not holding my breath over that.
Additionally I resent the tip screen. Panera is a fast food restaurant. You stand and place your order. You stand and wait for your order. I especially dislike when the only thing I've ordered is a coffee and I'm handed an empty cup to make it myself. Exactly what is the tip for? Doing the job they're paid to do? Nope.
I will probably get coffee there from time to time but I will never eat there again.

Multiple negative issues made for an unpleasant experience. The Bathroom Czar was rude, door has padlocks and there is a complicated process for accessing it. We ordered on the app for dine-in, but they would only give it as a to-go order, so paper bowles, plates, plastic ware, etc. Food was tasty, but small servings. I won't be back, ever.

The manager there is an absolute doll and very customer service driven. She is great at her job and making people feel welcomed and important. And every employee I talked to this morning was great. Especially the lady who cleaned our table and the person who took our orders!

My daughter's favorite ? I preferred the location on the northwest side of town to the one that's south (east of Glenstone on Sunshine). Both had great atmospheres, as well as fast and friendly service. This location didn't appear to be out of several items like the one on Sunshine was.

Portions are back to being super small sized, and food bland, meh. Presented with scant ingredients/toppings, especially the new sandwich and salads. A recent philly type sandwich was 70% bread, $17 and will not be ordering anymore. The pizza flatbreads were so good and an item they actually did well, but no longer available of course as they make more off the cups of soups for 10 bucks that hold about 20 TBSP. Sad. Online ordering has its own set of issues, and management not the best at troubleshooting. One manager recently blamed me that on a $40 lunch purchase: said online (GH) one soup was in a bread bowl, that on their (PB) end, it was just THE soup--and the 3 baguettes thrown in bag stale for the other 2 cups of soup, then the sandwich fail. We ordered McCallister's, down the street from them, had a filling meal for less, flavor and a sandwich that had meat. Do better. Treat customers with respect.

This Panera is probably middle of the line, though just a little above it because of some of the staff.
The place is quite clean, the beverages are always filled fast when emptied, and the vibe is alright. The main area gets loud a lot, so I tend to sit in the meeting room when it's not occupied.
The WiFi is horrible. It has been since I moved here a month ago. I can't hardly get any work done on my laptop or phone, even when I'm the only customer here. So, I connect to the library next door, which I am also a member of. Best of both worlds.
Most of the staff are decent. There are a couple who always seem angry at me while not other customers since my first time seeing them, but there are also some employees who really make my day feel chipper and blissful. So, I keep coming back to do my work everyday and just go with the flow, ignoring the employees who seem angry at me for just being there.
Overall, I'd say a three star, subtracting a star because of the WiFi being practically non-existent and another because of the employees who give me the evil eye whenever I show up.
Vegetarian options: Plenty of choices. too many to list
Dietary restrictions: They have plenty of options for vegetarians. A few limited options for gluten free. Not sure about vegans or diabetics. Though, I think the blood orange lemonade is sugar free or low sugar, but be careful, their's a LOT of caffeine in those.
Parking: Plenty of spots, and even if the front is full, there is more parking behind. I've never had to park behind though.
Kid-friendliness: Plenty of kids are here a lot. They sometimes play in the aisles, and no one, including myself, minds. They are kids just being their goofy selges.
