Interesting decor similar to old 1960s diners. We visited at 8:15 p.m. on a Saturday night. The hostess told us it was take out only, although when we asked how long the dining room was open we were told until 9 pm. The credit card reader was broken and had to be hand entered. It took three tries for the person to enter the credit card correctly.Food was made promptly. However, it was the worst hamburger, fries, and onion rings we could remember. The grease things were fried in tasted burned. So the soggy fries tasted burned, the onion rings tasted burned. The burger was dried out but absolutely drenched in mayonnaise, sauce and condiments. Very bad quality. The chocolate malt was good as was the root beer float. We were charged the entire price for both drinks although we ordered a combo meal for each of us. We were not given any credit for the drink with the combo meal. One of the worst meals out that we have had. We will likely not visit again.

Nothing special. Unless you like cold fries they precook them to keep up with business. Been 3 times same problem each time. Burgers are precooked also but at least they are fresh.

The restaurant was very dirty. The lady that took our order was rude. The food was ok but no ice cream they had special flavor at they time and no ice cream that was the reason we went there. I grew up with the old Reds very dissatisfied and disappointed.

while the atmosphere was great, nothing else was. we paid $27 for two people and it wasnt even good. The upcharge for a combo is $5, and an additonal dollar for onion rings. We got a (20oz?) drink and around 6 onion rings. chicken was dry and didnt have much flavor. tried to order a double burger and got a single, even after checking that it was a double when we ordered. I dont blame the person taking our order at all, since they're new and still learning. I think employees need to be paid higher, as its my assumption theyre not paid very well. The only way to serve quality food is to have motivated workers and bad pay will get you nowhere. Watched an employee yell at a customer. I think everyone is having a day. We will come back in the future to give it another try, I hope I can bump up stars then.

Damn, Red's Giant Hamburg has gone downhill. Wrong order at first so luckily we clarified at the window and had to regive the order but then get home to Republic to burgers with essentially all the toppings(including bacon) missing. If paying $28 for a couple of burgers I'd kinda expect to get what I asked for if I had to ask twice........

What a fun place the eat. Staff is friendly, the photos on the walls bring back so many memories of Springfield, oh, and the food is FANTASTIC!
