⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Perfect Night at Retro Metro!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by two lovely ladies who made us feel right at home. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a cozy yet vibrant energy that set the stage for an amazing evening.
Our waiter, **Dillon**, was new but absolutely fantastic—attentive, quick, and so eager to learn while providing excellent service.
**The drinks were a highlight!** My espresso martini was *divine*—rich, smooth, and almost like a dessert with what tasted like a hint of chocolate at the center. My fiancé’s smoked old fashioned (made with **Blanton’s**) was **next-level good**—bold, perfectly balanced, and so flavorful.
For starters, the **calamari** was cooked *perfectly*—crispy, tender, and not rubbery at all.
I had the Major crossing medallions and he had the Ribeye. Both seared to perfection with amazing flavor. The garlic butter mashed potatoes, well let me say I could have eaten a whole bowl of them!
The chocolate chip cookies were the cherry on top! Oh and the chef came out to say hello because duh, the food was amazeballs and customer service was top tier!
Overall, **Retro Metro exceeded every expectation**. We can’t wait to come back!

We booked a private room for a holiday get together of old friends and couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience.
The food (particularly the appetizers and steaks) was outstanding, our server, Madelyn, worked tirelessly to make sure we were taken care of, and one of the owners, Chef Tiny, checked on our group multiple times to make sure everything met our expectations.
We’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I ordered shrimp and grits and the filet tips. The filet tips meal did not come as described in the menu, i.e. there was no hollandaise on the asparagus. The tips were overcooked and tasted of nothing but char. In the end, my wife couldn't finish them. The shrimp and grits was serviceable, but the portion was meagre. None of the food was nearly good enough to justify the price.
The atmosphere was all over the place. Loud '80s pop music, college football on TVs, and sat in a booth 10 feet from the front door. The seat of the booth kept coming loose. It felt like a pretentious sports bar whose juke box had been taken over by a Gen X bachelorette party pregaming for a night out.
Our server was very good. So, there was that at least.
We were truly disappointed.

We sat in the bar area last night, no band, and had a wonderful evening dining with our son and his friend. The Prime rib is SO good, but I tried the Summer Tomato pesto and shrimp pasta. The shrimp were huge! A new favorite for me! Brandon and Hanna have the best staff! Always friendly and helpful. Our go to place for great food and atmosphere reminiscent of the show “Cheers” where “everyone knows your name”.

The food (I had ribeye, she had seafood) and wine were excellent, we had a fantastic server and plan on returning in the future. It seems to be a bit of a hidden gem for the area.
I had seen multiple posts of how good this place is since they opened. My hubby and I were looking for somewhere to eat on a kid free Saturday evening. They seated us before they were technically open and our waitress Carrie, was amazing! She's probably one of the best waitresses I've ever had dining out. She brought us complimentary cheese, prosciutto and delicious red wine. We got fried spinach as an app....highly recommend! My husband got the stroganoff pasta and I got steak tips and sweet potato. Both cooked perfectly and SO GOOD! Carrie brought us a warm chocolate chip cookie after we had to pass on dessert because we were so full. We managed to find room for jt. Overall it was a wonderful experience and will for sure be back!

Here from out of state for the funeral of a precious friend. Had no idea what to expect, but with a party of ten it was hard to find a restaurant to accommodate us on short notice. We had a room all to ourselves. The table was set beautifully. The server was precious, helpful and sweet. The food? It was superb! Our party was able to relax while we remembered our friend and the great times of our youth. Our experience made a difficult day end with laughter, and the complimentary cookies were just the right touch. I cannot thank you enough. Highly recommend Retro Metro!

Friendly, knowledgeable service ! The Salmon was great, and of course the flash fried spinach! Bree made a Sangria that was the favorite of the table! Thank you to Tiny and his amazing staff!

My wife and I were recommended to come eat here by Nick Reed, so we came in last night and it did not disappoint! I’ve worked at and eaten at many fine dining places in Springfield but this place takes the cake! The mussels were very flavorful, the ribeye was absolutely ridiculously tasty and cooked to a perfect medium-rare. My wife loved her pasta. Our server Toni was great, and we really enjoyed sitting out back as the sun went down. It was an all-around great experience for myself and my wife. I wish we would have come a long time ago. Good memories. We’ll definitely be back soon! Thank you!!!
