super good dumplings they are very good sized, also had the cumin beef, excellent. like another person said the dumpling shell is thicker than im used to but didnt effect flavor in my opinion if anything if they made a dumpling soup it would go excellent in it.

I am sorry to write a bad review on a locally owned restaurant like this, but I have to. I don't know if it's because I am not used to the flavors of this cuisine as someone who's never had Sichuan style Chinese food, or if there is actually something wrong with the preparation, but the food was not good at all. Dumplings were very doughy, dry on the inside, and tasted like nutmeg with no other flavor. I understand that the red oil is a part of the food culture now, but I think there should be some sort of warning that the food comes absolutely swimming in red chili oil. On the menu photos there's no sign of red oil so it was quite the shock. The oil was very spicy, and smelled and tasted foul. I don't like any kind of chili oil and if I knew all three of the dishes we ordered were going to come with two or three ladles of it I would have gotten something else. The sweet and sour spare ribs were very tasty but I had to wipe off the foul oil before eating them... Cabbage and pork belly was inedible because of the oil... Black pepper beef had great flavor but I could only eat the pieces that weren't covered in oil. I could've not liked this meal because I'm not used to the cuisine, but regardless, I would not go here unless you are sure you like this style of cuisine or are ready to take an expensive gamble. And I hope you like chili oil.

This was delicious. We had the special chicken stirfry and pork and cabbage dumplings. Perfect split. Lots of ginger flavors. The atmosphere is awesome.

Thank you for the most excellent dining experience in years! The service was excellent, the food was amazing, we had the best dinner at Rice and Dumplings. The clay pot meal is in most of the reviews, and that where it's at! The dumplings! The spice! Just absolutely delicious! All of it! We cannot wait to come again! Since moving to Missouri, I personally gave up on local Chinese food. There's not one place I have tried that was good enough to ever have again. It's not something I even think of anymore if we are going out, but this place changed that! We will be back! Hands down the #1 Chinese food in Springfield, MO.

We ordered to go. When we went to pick it up the place was empty, not uncommon for Mondays. The food was good, my husband got the clay pot spare ribs and rice, and it was very flavorful. The ribs were impossibly tender. The rice had a nice toasty bit on the bottom from the clay pot. They included a nice chili flakes in oil to add to it. We got two kinds of dumplings, pan fried and steamed. They give you a lot of dumplings in the 1/2 lb option so the price was a great deal. The cabbage and pork dumplings are bland, but the kids enjoyed them so much, they ate them all up. This is a great spot to get some dumplings and rice!

So when we've gone (we're vegetarians so keep that in mind) a lot of the things we want to order they're either out of or the chef who makes them isn't there (?????). What we've had we've enjoyed but having to go with 3rd or 4th choice options is why we haven't been back in months. Maybe it's more consistent now. The dumplings are amazing. And the tomato dish is fantastic. When we did go we'd order a few things and share them.

I'd heard about this place through Facebook and decided the hubby and I needed to try it.
Run, don't walk, to this establishment! They got the dumpling part down pat! Some items were not available to order but they for sure let us know up front. We also tried the dry pot potato and spare ribs along with the clay pot rice (don't remember the protein) and what a cool experience those dishes were!
You'll be so glad you gave this place a shot!

Best Dumplings I’ve ever had at a restaurant. And the price is amazing. You can easily fill up on one order so don’t worry about leaving hungry.
Not know what to get the waitress suggested pork and cabbage pan fried and pork and mushrooms steamed. Pork and mushrooms were the bomb diggity. I would get them steamed next time.

The food was not that great and I was looking forward to tasting the food because I had heard good things about this place. I won't go back due to not really likeing the food. No hot tea, was out of what I wanted to try (Garlic wings) , I bought steamed dumplings and the dumplings were very thick. My dad got some pork and peppers and it was way to salty for me and I like salt. Disappointed with the food, the service was fair the lady that waitressed on us didn't seem to speak good English. The inside is fairly clean from what I saw and comfortable seating.
