Food wasn’t what I hoped it would be. I ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp and it was just okay flavor wise and is not served in a pineapple as shown in the photos. The dumplings lacked seasoning and the texture wasn’t right.

I love Chinese and Asian food so much- we were excited to try this place. First off the service was not starting off good. The server did not know English very well and she was not able to explain to me anything about any of the dishes and she had tried nothing so had no idea what was good. we ordered chicken fried rice twice fried pork and Szechuan beef. For $14 the chicken fried chicken had a very small portion and had the tiniest pieces of chicken I’ve ever seen and hardly any at that. the Szechuan beef had the oiliest sauce I’ve ever seen. Pure oil. Onion and beef with bones in it. I tried it and it had hardly any flavor and what spice they did use, tasted more Indian than Chinese. Gross. Then the twice fried pork looked more like pieces of pork belly, and it was completely doused in oil again. Like a half inch of oil on my plate. Not that flavorful either- Never seen anything like it. I asked my server if the dishes were always so oily since me and my husband were extremely disappointed and she said yes and just walked away. We had to ask the server to get drinks twice because we couldn’t find her so my husband had to go out physically ask her both times we needed a drink. Then, after we asked about how oily the dish was, the Asian chef comes out and starts mugging on me. I could not believe it. He was seriously sitting there staring at me, like he as so offended I said his food was oily. We paid and vowed to never return- don’t waste your time- I’ve Worked at Asian restaurants and I Grew up next to Asian people who I got very close to and would cook for us all the time, and I have never seen that much oil in a dish in my life. Don’t waste your hard earned money here. also a note to the chef or the owner of this place, you should Probably act a little bit more grateful when you have people coming into your completely empty restaurant because people that have children don’t go Out very much and you kind of ruined our one night out. At least we know where to avoid.

Only one table seated and yet only one dish served at a time (on a lunch school type tay) the sodas were flat, dumplings were greasy and tasteless.

Absolutely horrible food. Taste like bland Indian food under the guise of Chinese cuisine! Take your money elsewhere. Yuck+!

Careful ordering the special. It takes over 25 mins to prepare, so you’ll be waiting for a while. I was trying to grab a quick bite and wasn’t warned until after I had waited for 25 mins with only 2 other tables seated in the restaurant. It took about 29 mins from when I ordered in an empty restaurant.
When my food finally came the baos were made so thin on the bottom when I removed the papers they ripped open spilling the juices out from the Inside all over. What a terrible experience

We absolutely loved Rice & Dumpling for lunch. Service was very good and the fried rice dishes and pan fried dumplings were amazing!

If you’re in the 417 area, this is one of the top destinations for Chinese comfort food extra points for speed, tech, and flavor. Give the steamed dumplings and claypot rice a shot, and don’t skip the pineapple fried rice.

Our first time there tonight. Food was excellent! Really enjoyed the pineapple chicken fried rice. We had a large party and service was great. Dining room was clean. All the food was hot and fresh and we were impressed with portion sizes and presentation. Price point was good for the portion sizes. Enjoyed the atmosphere and this was the prettiest sangria I’ve ever seen. We will be back in the future!

It’s a nicely decorated place, but we came in specifically for the lunch combos and xiaolongbao as mentioned in the Springfield magazine advertisement for May/June 2025. We were not told that they had a limited menu, until we tried to order things from it. No lunch combos other than the lemon chicken, which I didn’t even see on the menu. The staff didn’t seem to have ever heard of xiaolongbao and tried to give me baozi in a tomato based soup. That is not what I ordered.

My mother got the dumplings with corn and cabbage, and they were OK. I’ve made better. Maybe the other Chinese food options are better. I don’t intend to come back.

I have not received our order because my daughter is en route right now, but I have to give a shout out to Janu. Initially, she seemed very soft spoken, but she was wonderful. I don’t know who owns the restaurant, but she deserves a raise!
I have eaten here before or at least my daughter has brought me back food because I am quite disabled right now, but the soup dumplings are definitely unconventional, when I compare to the soup dumplings I had in San Francisco, but from what I recall, they were delicious!

The good: clay pot rice. The clay pot rice was amazing. It did however have cilantro on it and said nothing about that in the description. The dumplings: were flavorless, kind of a mess, and would not recommend.
