Once I would have definitely recommended Tacos El Champu. Unfortunately, I can no longer. The last two times, extra items have showed up on our bills that were not ordered. When brought to the attention of the server the second time, he corrected it, but when we checked it we were still overcharged. This, plus the fact that the waiter never came back to check on refills means I cannot recommend this place anymore.

The food is so delicious! You can eat anything from the menu and it will still be amazing. Get the salsa verde. It’s the best I’ve ever had.

Me and my spouse went to the sunshine location yesterday 3/25/25 and had 6 Carnitas tacos a piece. Only to horrifyingly wake up to the worst possible food poisoning you could imagine. Very disappointed as this was one of our favorite restaurants. Will not be back.

Small, cozy place which gives off more personal vibes. The staff is friendly and attentive. Place is mostly clean. The food is very good but we found the prices just a tad bit too high for the restaurant's atmosphere. Still, good food.

Tacos tasted great. Nothing wrong with quality. Only issue is quantity. I understand that they are only $1. Yet the other location gives more than just a pinch of meat. Side of rice was super small also. This downtown location is just lacking portion sizing.

First time ever eating at tacos El Chapu. Ordered over $40 worth of food to go. We ordered the burrito with the fries then the berea quesadilla.. then I ordered pico beans and rice on the side. The beans and rice work and extremely small portion smashed on the plate literally spreaded like it was done on purpose or something...... The Pico was half full. Also ordered chips and queso dip.. The queso dip was half full.Food Definitely wasn't hot. Not a good experience for first time..
