Today was my first time visiting this taqueria. It is small. So if people order and step outside, it gives others space to order at the register. The food was amazing!! They have dollar taco days, but I only paid attention to Thursday (today). They have a big selection of meats to choose from. The tortillas are the small street taco kind, but we'll served. This is truly AUTHENTIC Mexican food! But I only focused on all the tacos I bought. I will definitely be going back!

Tacos were flavorless, dry and tasted a couple days old. The green sauce was like jelly and they gave me one order wrong and it was burnt. The guy that took my order in the middle of my order answered the phone and took another order while I was in the middle my order. Placed my oder first but served others before me. Glad I'll never be in that area again. All around bad food bad service.

If I could recommend only one place to try in Springfield, it would be Tacos El Gordo. We always feel so welcomed when we eat here. Their food is authentic, fresh and made with love. Great specials! There is still so much I want to try on the menu.

Tacos El Gordo is proof that happiness really does come in taco form. The mural outside pulls you in, but it’s the $1 tacos on Mondays and Thursdays that keep you coming back (and waddling out). I tried four meats, my partner went veggie, and we were both grinning like kids on Christmas. The space is small, but the flavors are huge. Prices so low you’ll double-check the receipt, portions so generous you’ll have leftovers, and staff so kind you’ll wish you could invite them to Thanksgiving. This isn’t just a taco spot. It’s a weekly ritual. 🌮🙌
It was confusing. I was trying to order to go. I was not offered any menu other than the overhead panels (they don't make sense). I finally ordered 8 tacos as I needed to feed 3 people. The man just kept saying they are big tacos. So I took my order down to 6. It wasn't enough food for us. Both of my workers could have used the extra taco I tried to order them.

It is absolutely ridiculous how good this food is. I got pupusas mezcla (mixed - carnitas, beans, cheese) and horchata to drink. SOOO fresh and delicious. Lunch special was $10 for a generous portion. Very friendly service too. Inside is small and simple, but there are a couple tables. And the mural outside is a beautiful touch.

Best tacos ever. On Thursday they have $1 tacos, all kinds of meats to choose from, toppings are onions and cilantro with a lime slice and two different sauces plus hot sauce. Highly recommend if you haven't tried them
