Tortilleria Perches is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in the area and one of the best restaurants in Springfield overall. I've been coming here for probably about 8 years or maybe a bit longer, sometimes visiting multiple times a week, and I've never had a bad experience yet. The food is always great, the staff is friendly as well as attentive and the owners are frequently present not just checking in or observing but working hard right alongside their staff. They remember regulars, but whether it's your first visit or your hundredth visit you can count on being treated with warmth and enthusiasm. Sadly I don't live close enough to visit frequently anymore but whenever I need the comfort of their delicious carnitas or want to celebrate something it is always worth the drive to visit Tortilleria Perches.

I must start by saying that I’ve been visiting this establishment for the past five years since getting connected by a friend. That said, the food is impeccable, but the real treat is when you get an opportunity to sit down and experience the restaurant. As soon as you step through the door you are typically greeted by the owner or one of his lovely employees and seated within’ seconds. As you’re headed to your seat you’ll notice smiles and laughter from the staff to the customers - everyone enjoying themselves. You immediately feel a sense of belonging and comfort as you’re handed menus. My suggestion is the chicos tacos (with sauce ots) with the white queso and chips but try anything and you won’t be disappointed. Alright… So I could go on and on as you can see. If you’ve read this far then just know you won’t go wrong stopping by here!Lastly, I just want to end with saying the owner and many of the employees feel like family and that’s a really rare experience to have with a restaurant, but as you can tell it’s much more than a restaurant to me. This visit I had the enchiladas suprema a la Mexicana, I chose the Al Pastor (pork marinaded with pineapple) for one enchilada and the Carne Molida (ground beef) for the other two enchiladas. It is served with rice n beans and ensalada on the enchiladas. I also had 1 Tortillería Perches signature Margarita and a glass of water. Everything this family owned restaurant is amazing and homemade. The restaurant was started my Jesús and his mother and serve recipes handed down through their familia.
