Black Bear Diner Reviews
The lettuce that was used to garnish our plates was slimy with black spots on it. When informing the manager, he said they serve that lettuce all the time and said it was fine with the black spots on it. FINE??? GROSS! Would you put slimy, black lettuce on your plate? He gave us a 10%discount which amounted to $3.59. The waitress, Grace, was rude and not friendly at all. I will not be eating there again.
The food was delicious and the waitress was so friendly and respectful. took really good care of us. will come back when we are in town.
The VERY BEST, top of the line sausage patties. I have never in my 62 years of eating sausage have I ever had such thick, juicy, seasoned perfectly sausage in my life

St. Charles Black Bear Diner offers generous portions at fair prices, with efficient and polite service. The atmosphere is decorated with black bears, creating a very cute and inviting environment. The decor features bear carvings and posters, adding to its unique charm. While food quality may have declined over time, the diner still provides good value, and the huge portions, including a massive biscuit, are a highlight. The menu offers a great variety of options, with breakfast available all day. The staff, including servers like Raven, make sure to check on guests frequently and provide excellent care, ensuring a pleasant dining experience even during busy times. The kid-friendly menu adds to its appeal, making this diner worth a visit for families and groups. Though service can sometimes be slow, especially when the kitchen is busy, the friendly staff and tasty food make it a good place to enjoy a satisfying meal. The diner has many locations from Illinois to California, and many hope it will expand to the East Coast soon.
