I went here for the first time last night and one of the specials which was a scallop/pasta dish. The scallops were a little gray and chewy… They served four large scallops with the pasta and I only ate one because they didn’t seem right. There was also a handful of sun-dried tomatoes, which was just too much for the dish. I didn’t say anything at the restaurant because it was my friend‘s birthday and I didn’t want to be one of “those people” but for a $50 plate, it was absolutely not worth it. Not a very good first impression in my opinion. These are the refrigerated leftovers the next day I was about to reheat, but unfortunately, I am going to throw them away to be safe.

Bottom line, Won’t be back.
$200+ bill for a family of 4 with tip(even after my $40 salmon pasta was removed from the bill) … customer service lacks. tired of lack luster experiences at top dollar prices.
The basement seating is nowhere as warm in atmosphere as the main floor but was initially thankful they squeezed us in to the basement.
Brussel sprouts, were overly oily, truffle fries were nothing special and overpriced, Alfredo pasta - bland and they didn’t cook steak as requested but everyone was absolutely starving … so they ate. However, my $40 salmon pasta was raw in center, we asked that it be cooked longer since it was raw. Most restaurants would never ask for the piece of fish back but rather take the dish or remake the whole meal - they just “took the fish” so they could heat it back up. In twenty minutes, never got the fish back and everyone finished their meal so we just told them to take the pasta back too and remove it from the bill.
The server was very apologetic and we of course told her it wasn’t her fault and all is okay but the issue is that no one from the restaurant management came over to make anything right, ask us how we were doing or apologize for a backed up kitchen or not being able to serve a corrected dish in the hour + time we were there and it was very noticeable the food coming from the kitchen was so underwhelming especially for the price.
Again tired of having these experiences and not leaving reviews because I write it off as a bad night and feel bad about doing so. So there’s our take on a Friday night.

Outdoors seating area was very nice. Server was nice with quick but not overbearing service. The food was pretty good but not great. I would definitely go again to sit outside when it's nice out.

Cozy little spot, stopped in on my way across the country and had some amazing food. Ordered the roasted half chicken, came with garlic mash and broccoli and everything was very well seasoned, perfectly cooked. Highly recommend!

My husband and I had the pleasure of eating dinner on Christmas Eve. I had the scallops and linguine; he had a steak. Our meals were delicious! Highly recommend this little gem along one of the prettiest streets in the USA.
The Main House has become our family’s Christmas tradition. The food is consistently delicious, and the staff are among the kindest you’ll find anywhere.

Our server was very attentive, filling our glasses often and checking to see if we were in need of anything. Her recommendations were spot on and her knowledge of the history of the house was fascinating. Very pleased with our meal. Will be back!

Who serves salty Devil eggs, I do not recommend. There is nothing Cajun about the their pasta. Chef Boyardee ravioli in a can taste better.

Strolling down Main Street at Christmastime and came across an unsmiling young lady with a phone gazing overseer seated nearby, selling hot chocolate spiked with a shot of the booze of your choice, if so desired. Trying to get into the spirit of the thing, we ordered two hot chocolates with a shot of Bailey's in each. The bill was $26. I could leave that right there and you could take from it what you will. But I will add this, The Main House looks like a fine establishment and very well may be, not that I will ever know because what should have been a still very profitable cup of hot chocolate at say, $8 a pop, a price that would have seemed reasonable and welcoming even, was instead a thirteen dollar shot across my bow warning me to avoid the place altogether.
In many retail businesses the hot chocolate would be viewed as a loss leader, designed to give the random passerby a (literal) warm feeling about your establishment. Instead it became an opportunity to bilk the tourist trade that flocks down to Main. I gave three stars because it's a middle of the road ranking and bilking tourist and unsuspecting locals is such a common, middle of the road practice.

The big booths were nice and service was good, I got the French onion soup, fair, too much wine in it, attempted to share the caprese salad. They really ought to be ashamed about that one. The caprese salad was $14, it consisted of exactly 3 slices of tomato, not even a large tomato, a literal dollop of burrata and a variety of balsamic drizzled on top. The deviled eggs were fair, the chicken wings were good. Overall, I don’t think I’ll be back. The service and atmosphere were good enough.
