When I arrived an elderly man had fallen in the parking lot and the Fire department was there helping him. He had busted the back of his head open. When they asked him if he wanted to go to the hospital, he said he wanted to go inside and eat ?... THAT is how good Barbosa's food is!!!My Taco's were AMAZING ?I just HAD to share that crazy story ?

I first ate at Barbosa's when they were on S 10th St.I was it St. Joe to visit some family and thought to have lunch before going home to Olathe.I was very disappointed. I ordered a combo plant to refresh my memory of what their food was like. It had been about four years. The taco was adequate, but without much flavor, as was the tamale. The tornado was flavorful but cold. I took a pass and did not eat the enchiladas as I knew what to expect. I haven't cared for them for fifty years. The beans were beans.I taught school in the barrio in the SW and learned to appreciate and understand Mexican food. This was not the same.The atmosphere was absent, but the service was adequate.I think this will be my last visit.

In town for our grandson's birth and googled Mexican restaurants. My wife and I both agreed this was the best Mexican food outside of Mexico! Portions huge and food was awesome. Grand daughter of the founder served and told us stories of the place. Chip are the best. If you are near, please stop and eat!
Chips were absolutely disgusting… cooked in dirty oil… the food was far from good… only thing good was the service from our waitress… will NOT be going

Chips and cheese dip made with labor of love and red pork chile dinner to die for. Drove an hour to try this Mexican restaurant with menu items brought from old family recipe from Guadalajara, Mexico! Worth the drive!!!
