I got Caldo de pollo and it was not in the realm of any Caldo de pollo I have had. Seemed like fajita chicken dumped in tomato-y chicken-ish broth and rice. I am used to whole pieces of chicken in a stock with some veggies.

I’m from Houston, so I know good Mexican and Tex-Mex. I ordered the chicken and beef fajitas, and both were chopped extremely fine — almost like baby food. Fajita meat should be sliced, tender, and grilled, not minced. The texture completely threw me off and took away from the flavor. This was not what I expect when ordering fajitas, and I was very disappointed.

There was 14 and everyone enjoyed what they had to eat. The waitress was fantastic she was polite and always a smile. We never asked for a drink she was always there. We were not her only table but we felt like we were. My nephews were with us and said they had been to one in St. Louis and the food there was the best they ever had.

Great food, we got there 15 mins before lunch ended and they were definitely trying to milk the clock, and you could see our waiter talkingwith his boss about it. There was only about 3 other tables there, so business wasn't the issue. But they honored the deal.

Good, hot and delicious food Served quickly and a good value. The server was not overly friendly. We waited a bit to have him seat us in a restaurant that was not full at 2pm. He was busy talking to another staff member. Never did refill our drinks. But the place was clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were clean. Would come back here.

Can’t really have El Maguey myself anymore because they no longer use or allow any delivery services. Sucks when you can’t visit your favorite place and can’t even have it delivered anymore. :/
