I messaged the Owner via FB. In short, slow to no service. Sat down and over an hour went by with no food. We only got 2 Dr. Pepper’s and a water. The interior of the space is very neat. Love the thistle wallcovering and the cool pipe stove. Clean bathroom. The tall chairs were a touch uncomfortable (but I am short). The menu looked awesome and we were looking forward to trying out some dishes. But being told that the order had to be re-entered due to computer glitch after 20+ minutes (even though other people got food) and being told the order would be put under “quick fire” twice (and other tables got food and we didn’t again). If the food made it out by the time we left, we’d only have 10 minutes to snarf it down before heading to the theater. Looks like there was a complaint on google from another customer the same day. So was it an off day??? I like supporting local/mom & pop businesses, and I was a waitress at one point in my life, but this was not acceptable.

Never again. Beware the “Rueben” is old corn beef hash, no bread, sauerkraut or taste. Uncomfortable seating, slow service and high prices.

The food and staff are amazing. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. One unpleasant thing was the amount of time it took them to make the food and bring it over. But the wait was worth it for the incredible food.

Kid-friendliness: Probably not the most kid friendly environment.

Great food, beautiful place, great service. I love the magic of food being brought up on a dumb waiter.

Need a better kitchen manager. Service is sometimes slow.

Changed hands and is not as good. Inconsistent ingredients in some dishes. If you like it this time, it may not be served the same way next time. Chef seemed to favor the tables who ordered liquor. Can no longer recommend.

I came here for the Thursday Wine flight special on my anniversary with my boyfriend and Diana and Calvin really hooked us up! Four courses with a paired wine per course and everything was incredible! The Thursday wine flight deal was such a fun experience. You don’t have to even look at the menu and everything is taken care of! Big fan of this place and can’t wait to come back again. :)

Food was okay, but the portion sizes are ridiculous. $17 for two tiny sliders and a side of soup. I get more food for that price in Chicago, let alone St. Joseph, Missouri. Bloody Mary had so much dill it tasted like I was having a glass of pickle juice and didn't have any garnish at all. Cute café, though.

I have tried this place many times and really wanted to like it. I love supporting local, but I can't give this establishment high reviews unfortunately.

I was astonished that my $9 side salad came out on a tea saucer. It has gotten smaller and smaller as time goes by.

The $28 Salmon is consistently WAY overcooked, slimy skin and under seasoned.

The $26 Beef Medallions were hammered thin like a Schnitzel, so much so that requesting it to be cooked medium-rare is not possible, and the vegetables are incredibly bland. I will say the Potatoes Au gratin is delicious. Unfortunately that would be the only thing I would order again.

The server was wonderful though, and I want to give her lots of kudos!
