One of my absolute favorite restaurants in the St.Louis area! Food is always amazing. Plus such a fun atmosphere with a surprise belly dancer, could not have been more fun evening.
The food is so flavorful. We LOVED the hummus, babaganoush, and the falafel in particular. The portions are generous, as well. Very much recommend going on a nice day when you can sit outside on the patio.
Food was really great. We had a Pide and the dumpling dish. Flavors were delicious. I do think the Pide at Balkan Treat Box is better, but this restaurant is so close to us and open better hours! Outdoor seating is pretty… a little weird being right on Chippewa, but that’s what you get in STL. Service was kind, a little odd, but nice. Attentive and checked on us a few times. One waiter threw out our “old” water in the bushes before refilling our cups. Said “fresh like in turkey!” Made us giggle. I’d skip the cocktails. Not great for the price. Go for the delicious food, or just get pick up! We didn’t sit inside, but it seemed nice and warm in there.
Excellent Turkish spot with great service and a cozy building. Highly recommend the swordfish kebap. The baklava here is the best in the city.
Aya Sofia offers the best brunch in town, and Chef Mehmet’s dishes are nothing short of incredible. Every meal is expertly crafted, bursting with flavor, and made with care. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're a longtime fan or a first-time visitor, this place never disappoints. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-tier cuisine!
Great food amazing service it was a bit pricey but it was worth it for the food we got the lamb chops and they were cooked perfect couldn’t ask for a better experience top 5 in St. Louis
This gem of a restaurant is family owned and they cook and serve like you are one of them. The food is authentic and delicious. The last time we had the musaka (the vegetarian style, it also can be ordered with meat. It was perfect, the vegetables cooked just right, not overcooked. We also had the Iskender, thinly sliced mead seasoned well, with pita, tomato sauce, and yoghurt. Side of roasted jalepena. It too was great. One nice treat, we arrived to find their first service of Dubai chocolate, flavorful dark chocolate with bits of crispy filo and other flavors. Whipped cream and crushed pistachio on top. Highly recommend.
This isn't a fancy restaurant; it is mid-range - and top of the line for that category. There's a variety of choices: both meat and vegetarian. We got the Aya Sofia sampler platter for our starter - and had tabbouli, hummus, grape leaves, and toasted feta rolls - gave a great sense for the variety. Service was friendly, and our waitress (Fatima) may well have even been Turkish. Very reasonably priced.

I had previously dined here back in 2016 and had a wonderful experience, which is why I was looking forward to returning. However, my recent visit was unfortunately very disappointing.
Kabob Plate: The rice was overcooked and served in a very small portion. The accompanying vegetables were bland and lacked any flavor or dressing. Most concerning, the chicken kabob was plain, chewy, and didn’t appear to be marinated or cooked to the standard expected for kabobs.
Beet Salad: It was more of a few sliced beets rather than an actual salad.
Drink Prices: The prices seemed unreasonably high for what was offered.
Overall, the quality of the food and experience fell far short of expectations. I hope you can use this feedback to make improvements, as I know the potential for great dining experiences is there.

Too expensive and the food was average to below average. I ordered manti and it tasted like frozen dumplings boiled and brought with some tomato sauce on top. Very cheap frozen food like taste for an expensive place if you ask me. But that wasn’t the worst part. I was with family and I think our waiter overheard us talking in our native language. I still can’t believe at the end when he came up to us with the bill, he said because people from “different cultures” come to their restaurant, they already charged a tip of 20%. First of all, it was offensive enough that he assumed that because we are from a different culture, we don’t tip. On top of that, who automatically charges a tip and lets you know before you even paid for your meal? I live in CA, in here pricy restaurants lets you know ahead of time about their tipping related info IF they are really worried about tipping. But this dude decided to just add the tip himself and a 20%?
What if I didn’t find his service and his unnecessary remark 20% tip worthy?
I do NOT recommend this place ESPECIALLY for people from uh.. “different cultures” not just because of their rude assumptions but because their food doesn’t taste good either.
