Fun bar
The owner was very disrespectful. He was perfectly okay with my gay male friends coming in but I’d me and my female friend as soon as he saw me. The bar is gross and I’ve watched a random man drug me and my friends there. Don’t go.

Why in 2025 would you not have Apple Pay?
This was my daughter’s first drag show and it was amazing!! The girls were that perfect mix of class and trash that you expect from good drag. It was fantastic!

Use cash only! The staff has NOOO idea how to run a card! The bartender is rude, obnoxious, and unwilling to own their mistakes. Pay cash. Enjoy the other patrons because they will make your experience delightful! If you follow this you will have an AMAZING time.

Be careful, they do not take tap payment on your phone
Worst bartender ever. Never smiles guess he had allergies. Like my beer with ice. Gave me a Dixie cup with ice. Then told me not to waste the cups. Guess I owe him $0.02. If traveling do not go there with the plastic cup Nazi working. Guess you need to be a regular. Go to Boy's Town at least their bartenders smile & are good looking too 🤗.

Absolutely LOVE this place. Great atmosphere and very friendly people. I always feel so welcome here!
Bastille Bar has been around for years, attracting a dedicated group of patrons and long-time friends and welcoming new friends. It is definitely the typical ‘corner bar’ with a unique outdoor patio bar (cash only for this outdoor bar). On warm days, there is a nice outdoor area with tables and chairs along Russell Street. The bar attracts a variety of people of various ages. The bar provides a very nice Sunday brunch throughout the day. The restrooms are private, stocked, and usually clean. Drinks are available at reasonable prices, and they are made to your liking.
I am a new transplant to Soulard who doesn't know anyone. I've been in to Bastille a few times. The bat, bartenders and patrons have all been wonderful. Love the music videos that play with the music. Got treated to an awesome drag show that I didn't know was happening until right before. Made my night! Drinks are very reasonably price, clean restrooms and very close to home. Highly recommend
Love this bar. It's been my go-to in Soulard for over a year now. The bartenders are all great. Kyle and Mark on the back patio are awesome--two of my favorites. When you get a cocktail or a shot, they don't go light with the alcohol and they are inexpensive. Definitely recommend this place. LGBTQIA+ staple in Soulard.
