I enjoy the dim-lighted atmosphere; however I wouldn’t consider it a very welcoming environment. I went tonight after work and when I walked in an older gentleman walked up to me immediately (without introducing himself) and asked if I was there for the show. I said no, just to have a drink and relax after work. He said donations are welcome. I assume he was the owner, said his name is Jim. I sat down and about 10 mins later my girl friend (who is a black woman) joined me and he immediately came up to us and started demanding that we pay the “donation” fee. It was just super weird bc he was NOT acting that way until she arrived. Would not recommend this place if you are looking for an inclusive environment in the STL area.

Great live entertainment and atmosphere! However, the food is a bit overpriced for what it is. I wouldn't order the sole (stodgy) or a salad (stingy with the toppings) again, but I might try a cocktail and dessert if I revisit.

My Brother-in-law was performing there and it was my first time being there. The atmosphere is good and the gooey butter cake is most excellent.

I have been here several times. The music is always outstanding. Lots of interesting and talented musicians. The food service, however, is really sub-par. The wait staff is inattentive and do not follow up. It takes far too long to get food, and often, we have had to repeatedly get the attention of any staff person, and ask them to check on our food. Last time we were there, our waiter never came back to check on us. After an hour and 15 minutes we asked the hostess, who was walking by, about our food. Fifteen minutes later we asked a different waiter about our food. When it finally arrived, it was both the appetizer and main course together. Go for the music, avoid the food!

A very chill and mellow atmosphere with very talented artists, quality cocoktails, and attentive customer service. Perfect spot for a date or a solo treat to self. $15 to sit by the bar, $20 to sit at a table in front of the stage. Decent food, nothing to write home about. All in all, an amazing experience. I’d love to come back.

Great venue for music! Staff is on their game and mocking swiftly yet discretely among the tables. Drinks are tasty. Enjoyed some terrific Brussels sprouts along with a great show. Will so be going back for more show!

Pros and cons to this experience that land me at a solid 3Pros - fun, unique atmosphere when you are looking for something different to do, a nice selection of wines, beers, cocktails, and NA options plus a food menu that has a little something for everyone and every occassion from happy hour, full meal, or just dessertCons - service was mediocre. We split 2 shared plates (literally what it is called on the menu); brussel sprouts and deviled eggs, yet when the waiter brought out the food, no share plates and no serving utensils, we had to ask for all of these. Also, I was torn between 2 wines by the glass and when I asked if I could try a small sip to compare (pretty standard at a wine bar) I was told one bottle wasn't open so I couldn't try it?? Food was also just so-so, and the lighting (very BLUE) sort of took away from the dining experience.I'll come back for sure for a drink and entertainment, but I'll try one of the many other options in the neighborhood for food.PS they do have a $15 minimum on food & drink, even after you pay for your admission. So be prepared to order something.
