Amazing experiences back in 2022 late 2023. So knowledgeable about Missouri’s history and food, and so passionate about the Ozarks in general. The owner has moved on to better things but I’m sure that every person who has had the chance to eat his food and see his story is so, so grateful. Bulrush will be missed.
Good riddance. Missouri and hate? LOL. Failing business anyway using a liberal excuse. Nick Rye - It's the truth.
Disappointed. Furthermore, if you don't like Missouri, move on.
Chef Rob is world class AND a class act. I am in St. Louis for a conference and this meal was worth the cost of travel full stop. The staff are well-trained and have as much character as the deliberately designed interior. It’s so great to have an experience where someone cares so deeply about every aspect of their business.
The food was spectacular, all the more amazing because much of the food is foraged. I would put the food against many Michelin star experiences I have had.
I cannot conclude without mentioning the he incredible bar, and most of all the non-alcoholic tasting menu! I don’t drink, and never have. I’ve always missed out on these experiences until today. Thank you Sydney(bartender)!
If you are in St. Louis and are used to a higher standard of dining, you have to give Chef Rob a visit.

A tasting menu experience with an extremely favorable price:performance ratio. No bad dishes - most with just eye-poppingly good flavors and textures. Great portions; enough to feel full but not uncomfortably so. A stylish atmosphere, made very approachable thanks in great part to the warm and caring service.
Great respect for chef's genuine care about fine dining sustainability, and unique approach of building (and regularly RE-building) menus off of what's available via his own local foraging.
A real credit to St. Louis, to Missouri, to the industry. This is one of those restaurants that I can't help but leave feeling grateful for the opportunity to dine.

Everything about Bulrush was simply incredible. This place and it's people are the best combination of recognizing, appreciating, sharing, preserving, and repairing history.

This was a top notch dining experience. As you can see from all the other reviews, the food was amazing and unique, the staff was welcoming from the start, and Chef Rob created a truly special experience. But, what I want to focus on is the accommodations for my gluten intolerance. If you or a loved one are looking for an exceptional dinner, but have a dietary restriction, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! Check the restaurant’s website for which foods they can and cannot accommodate, and then note it when you make your reservation. I was pleasantly surprised to see that most of the food was already naturally gluten free. For the courses that did have gluten, they were able to give me the same dish with slight changes so I was still a part of the experience. Chef Rob and the staff were on top of it. I didn’t have to remind anyone that I said I was gluten intolerant in my reservation. They take allergens and intolerances seriously. I’m so thankful to have had this experience and recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Dietary restrictions: Most of the dishes were already gluten free, but for the few that weren’t they changed a few things so I was still a part of the dining experience.

Really fun, tasty, and great experience. Love the goals and undertakings of the restaurant. Service was great and you can tell that everyone loves to be there.
Chef makes his rounds and answers anything you may have to ask.
Tasting menu and cocktails were overall really interesting and tasty. Only one dish totally missed the mark for me (maybe because I eat slow, but a breaded pork on bread and sauce got soggy for me pretty quickly). Asparagus soup, acorn panisse, magnolia/cherry blossom explosion, and the dessert were my highlights. Beet and apple roll up was fun and creative. Would definitely come again the next time I'm in STL

Very pleasant dinner, very creative tasty food by self-taught chef, friendly service. We had a wonderful time. If the restaurant wishes to approach perfection, I would suggest to replace the trendy "natural wine" by a "real wine" in the wine pairing. But this is probably a matter of taste. Also if you are more than 2 guests, make sure you book a corner so you can all talk to each other. Enjoy !

I can honestly say that this was the best fine dining experience of my life. It's not just a meal; it's a journey that's both unique and delicious, while also being incredibly educational. Rob, the chef, is a master of his craft, and his knowledge and skill shine through in every dish. What sets this restaurant apart is their commitment to using local and whole food ingredients, which adds an extra layer of depth to each bite. The atmosphere is also top-notch, providing a full experience from start to finish.Although we opted out of the drink pairing, the cocktails looked incredible, and I'm definitely trying them next time.As for my gluten-free partner, they exceeded both of our expectations. The entire meal went smoothly, and you wouldn't even notice they were making accommodations. It was the first time my partner didn't feel like a burden while dining out.For any St. Louis foodie, this restaurant is a must-try. I'll definitely be returning time and time again!

Tries way too hard…best to keep things simple! People want straightforward, quality food, PERIOD!Don’t need smoke coming out of drinks or anything else to impress; rather stay home
