By far my favorite sushi place in St. Louis. The volcano roll is a must on my list every time. You can bet every roll on the menu is going to be delicious.
Wheelchair accessibility: There are a few tables inside the door and outside on the patio but most of the seating area is upstairs.

The BEST sushi you’ll find in St. Louis. Everything is fresh and full of flavor! I highly suggest the Mochi Rangoons as an appetizer! Service was excellent and always made sure tables were taken care of.

we were out of towners, came here from a few hours north to enjoy my birthday. we were scrolling through restaurants and were extremely pleased to find cafe mochi! we ordered two phoenix rolls and an entree of teriyaki chicken with rice. they accommodated for our allergies as well. the rolls looked beautiful and tasted even better, excellent combination of ingredients and presentation. the chicken teriyaki was perhaps the most tender chicken ive ever had! all in all, we had respectful service, a relatively inexpensive bill, and amazing food! i dont normally write reviews but i couldnt help myself after i bit into that chicken! kudos and thank you!

We visited this restaurant on Saturday 01/11/25. We arrived at 7:17 pm.. we knew exactly what we wanted so we ordered right away. Drinks came promptly and my miso soup followed but that was it. He came back to ask about another drink. We watched 4 tables at after us receive their food including the table next to us. The waiter even came to ask them was everything okay and we still had nothing. After waiting a little longer, we asked the server about our rangoons. He said oh and never came back. After another 10 minutes or so I finally went downstairs to the register to be cashed out. The waiter was down behind the manger/owner and she thought we had just ordered. No at this point it is now 8:10 and our food had just been put in. He didn’t come back to apologize because mistakes do happen. We weren’t not offered to be comped for anything. All we got was an apology from the manager/owner and it was emphasized several times how long we were waiting, how many other tables were fed before us and that our server never came back. I normally have no complaints but this was the worse visit I ever had. I would’ve been okay if the server would’ve came back to apologize but didnt. Even after I told her we hadn’t recieved food I was almost charged for Rangoon. She did ask did I want it to go. No I don’t I spent $40 on four drinks nothing was taken off not even .50 for poor service. Food is normally good. Service is normally good. Saturday was a big let down and definitely showed me what kind of honor system they have when it comes to their patrons and providing exceptional service. Definitely will not be returning.

I don't get the hype around this place- avg sushi- small dining in the inside- sushi is not super fresh and the pho was tasteless. I only went once and never came back- service was great , nice ppl and friendly. Just found the food lacking. Sushi reminds me of zushi sushi- rice always over cooked and mushy between the meat.

2016: No. Just no. The service was awful. We were ignored for 10 minutes with different servers coming to our table. While the presentation of the food was good, it was mediocre. Horribly overpriced, even for two people.
2018: Came back, gave them another chance. Wonderful food this time around. I wonder what changed. Whatever it was, I hope these changes are permanent and I would like to be a return customer.
2024: Met friends for dinner and everything was on point, better than in 2018. A lot has changed and I will keep coming.

The cocktails were delicious, but the sushi rolls left something to be desired. Service and atmosphere were standard. Overall, not my personal pick for the price point Cafe Mochi commands.

The sushi rolls here are amazing. We ordered a variety with the intention of having leftovers to take home, but we ended up eating them all they were so good. The only negative thing I can say was that the music in the dining area was either too loud or off, like the volume control was broken. Otherwise, this place was excellent. The service was good and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes sushi!
Parking: There are about 8 paid spots on the side of their building, otherwise you are on your own for paid street parking.
