Just had dinner and it was terrible. Had the shrimp plate. The shrimp were cold, hard and unseasoned. The rice was the same. Absolutely no flavor. While the patio is beautiful, I did not appreciate the mice running around under our table. The service was just as bad as the food. I was a fan of this place, but won't ever return. Has Cafe Nova changed ownership?

Took my wife out to dinner, dropped off the kids.. wanted to treat my wife to a nice dinner.. ended up waiting an hour and 20 minutes for food. Never ended up getting our food. I asked at least 3 times what we going on. They told me there “prepping it” every other person that kept coming out was completely confused.. I guess the person that worked there. Decided to come out. Got on his knees and apologized that they dropped the food and that we wouldn’t like to eat food off the floor so they were trying to figure out what they would do.. but they didn’t even ask me for what else I wanted because they dropped the food. They also told me 20 minutes after I ordered food that the lamb that I wanted they didn’t have. So I had to get something else. Then they tell me an hour and 20 minutes later that they dropped the food. The owner wanted to offer us a desert, at that point I didn’t even want deser. I just paid for my hummus and left. They offered to make something on the go and I didn’t want that. I just wanted my good. Horrible service. Horrible experience! Also not to mention they came out 55 minutes later to top my water off with WARM water and I was sitting outside.. never again going back.

Cafe Nova is one of our absolute favorites because of their friendly staff and great patio - even for little kids and I can’t believe I haven’t left them a review sooner.
Tonight I ordered from them late for take out and my daughter was asleep in the car when picking it up. I called to check if it was ready so that when I got her out of the car, she wouldn’t have to wait long inside. They offered to bring me the food out and pay from the car. I’m sure it wasn’t a huge deal for them, but they consistently go above and beyond for their customers. Worth a visit if you haven’t been!

I love café nova! It’s a little oasis in the middle of the city. The patio is extremely peaceful and large. They do allow dogs. I recommend the spanakopita (vegetarian), salmon bruschetta appetizer, buffalo chicken salad, and gyro with fries.

Went for my birthday lunch on a rainy Friday afternoon, and the place did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and helpful with explaining the menu. We tried so many different things you can’t go wrong with choosing anything. I highly recommend going outside of your norm and try something new everything we had was amazing even down to the burger .

Food took forever, over an hour, while drinks and menus came right away. That tells you the kitchen is either short staffed or run by complete amateurs. I feel bad for the servers — they were polite and friendly — but if I were them, I’d get out of there fast. Management is cutting into their tips.

Café Nova is one of the worst-managed restaurants I’ve ever stepped into. The problem isn’t the servers — they’re actually the only reason this place is holding together at all. The real issue is the owner, who clearly has no idea how to run a restaurant. Every single time I’ve been here, it’s short staffed. Sometimes there aren’t enough servers, now there isn’t even a cook. What kind of management allows that? It’s irresponsible and embarrassing.
The servers were running around like crazy, stressed and under pressure, but still trying their best. I tipped them because it’s not their fault. They cannot be expected to serve, clean, AND cook the food too. All of this chaos comes from the top — a complete failure in leadership. Any decent manager would know that if you don’t have staff, you do NOT overload the restaurant with customers. But here, the owner does the exact opposite, and it ruins the experience for everyone.
They brought us water and menus, took our order, and then we sat there waiting more than an hour for food. By the time it came, the atmosphere was so tense and unpleasant that the entire meal was ruined. Management doesn’t just “need improvement” — it needs a total overhaul. As long as this owner is in charge, Café Nova will never be a place worth recommending.

We got here at 12:25pm. Was a little busy, not that bad. We had a party of 5 asked if we had a reservation- no we didn’t but they said it was fine but next time make one as we had 5 people. Said it would be about 15 mins til someone came to our table. We didn’t even get our drinks until 15 minutes after that so total of 30 mins. We then placed an appetizer ad they said it would be awhile for the food- they were short staffed. Cool no biggie. We didn’t see a waiter until we got up and asked for more water and to check on our app- it had been an hour. We didn’t get our food including our app until 15 mins after that. Our chicken paninis came out in correct, so sent that back. Another server delivered rest of our food, we then had to ask for water AGAIN! They grabbed a pitch from another table that had been sitting there for at LEAST 20-30 mins. We then had to ask for our friends dessert from another server.
Don’t get me wrong food was ok- friend food was not that great but the paninis and fries were amazing but they service was HORRIBLE.
We had to go ask for checks and boxes.
