We're from PA and wanted to try good Mediterranean food in St. Louis! Everything was delicious. We had the salmon bruschetta (so fresh), Nova Gyro (perfectly seasoned), and the Shrimp Plate (every bite slammed). Ambience (we had outdoor dining) is 10/10.

Food isn't what we expected when we googled for restaurants.Was busy outside,we didn't get great service.I never got the dressing for my salad.Husband got a gyro.He thinks Arby's gyro is better.A drink is almost $4,and it's maybe a 16 ounce bottle of soda.Too pricey,not many options on their menu for being a cafe.

We have been coming to Cafe Nova for 9 years. We’ve made it a staple in our routine at least twice a month. In the past 2-3 years, it has gone EXTREMELY downhill.
We ordered a glass of wine (which they said they were completely out outside of Cabernet) so I stuck with water. My partner got a beer and a glass. The glass was SO filthy I couldn’t even believe he handed it to her. The last time I was there, there was a family of GNATS inside of my wine.
As we were about to order, there was a server TAKING FRIES OFF OF SOMEONES PLATE BEFORE SERVING IT TO THEM!!! I was shocked and we decided to not order and this was our LAST time eating here.
When you’re sitting outside, the ambiance can get the best of you per the amazing reviews. Have a seat inside and you will have a COMPLETELY different perspective on how they handle customers, food, and drinks.

I went to Cafe Nova with 4 other friends at 6:30 pm on a Thursday. When we walked into the restaurant to be seated, the waiter asked if we had a reservation. Their website makes no indication that reservations are needed, and I didn’t think a table for 5 would be unmanageable for a restaurant with a large patio. We told him we did not, and he looked annoyed at this. The patio was over half empty, so there were plenty of tables available. He told us it would be a 5-10 minute wait and to go to one of the big tables. We did so and received menus about 10 minutes after. The bus boy then said he would be back with waters (he never came back). The waiter came by once asking if we need anything and we said we wanted to place drink orders. He said he had many drinks to make and would be back. He never came back to our table, despite us trying to flag him down as he waited on other tables. After 40 minutes of no service, we got up to leave. There was a table of ladies sitting behind us and they asked if we were leaving because we never got service. I said yes and they said they didn’t receive all of their food yet. The waiter then caught my eye and I told him we were leaving due to no one coming to the table. He argued with me that we didn’t have a reservation, while the restaurant was half empty. He did not apologize or give us any indication of wanting to serve us at all. We asked for the manager and he didn’t give us a straight answer, just pointing to the other waiter/bus boy. I have never experienced such rude behavior from waitstaff at a restaurant. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It’s a shame because the patio is so pretty!

I moved to St Louis 7 years ago. I retired 2 years ago. Something I decided I'd like to journey on was trying different restaurants in St Louis. My father is American and my mother is french. I've lived abroad off and on over the years. Last night me and a friend decided we'd try out Cafe Nova. I was completely overwhelmed with the absolutely amazing food. This is authentic and best quality meats and vegetables! The gorgeous hamburgers and chops that were coming from the grill was stunning! I truly thought I was in the Mediterranean! Cafe Nova is a piece of Mediterranean heaven. The servers were sweet and kind. Very helpful. The restaurant was lovely and clean. It boasts a lovely outdoor dining experience as well. In my 7 years of trying out different ethnic restaurants in St Louis...CAFE NOVA wins the Gold Ribbon for delicious and clean and friendly, comfortable and affordable restaurant here in St Louis! Just exquisite flavor combined with artistic creations. Your pallet will be soaring! The location is simple to get to, no hassle parking. St Louis has a gem at Cafe Nova!!
Awful service! Waited over 20 min. for a server. One server walked past us 4 times, I finally stoped him and asked if he could find our server and he said they don’t have sections. We finally ordered, after 30 minuets we still didn't have our food, the table next to us had been waiting over an hour. We ended up leaving because our food never came and there was no server to be found to ask. When I went in pay for my glass of wine they didn’t seem to know what happened to our food or the table next to ours food. Also prices on line are incorrect, for example Mediterranean Platter $11.99 on line, $19.99 at restaurants.

My wife, daughter and son in law stopped by for dinner. There were a number of staff members taking care of our needs . Everyone was wonderful. We ordered drinks, appetizers and dinner. The food was amazing and the service fantastic. I can totally recommend this place. We will come again.
