The aroma from this place fuels me. Excellent Bourdeaux wines, scallops magnifique, peasant bread dipped in that cheesy white wine sauce start off a trip to the French countryside culinary escape. Should there be more restaraunts like this in a town named for a French saint yes but none can top this
Food is outstanding and nice peaceful place to eat and enjoy evening

Lovely French restaurant in Kirkwood. Delicious food with classy service. It gives me thoughts of being in Lyon.

Business lunch here. I had never been here before, not expected such a good French restaurant in this area. Quiche and bread were great. Being 1/4 French and recently in France, I'd like to get back here to try more of their menu.

Very disappointed with the steaks, they were served very cool, as well as the sauce and not cooked as requested. The waitress offered to have another steak cooked. It took over 20 minutes for it to come out & was rare. (ordered medium well). No apology or even a sorry….
It was my wife’s Birthday and they didn’t even acknowledge it.
In the past, we have enjoyed great dinners, but after this experience, we will not be coming back. What a shame!
Everything is so good!
So good!

Trio is the best value.
Such a nice little place! My oldest son and I have been here before, but this time was a Friday for lunch. We arrived around 11:30 am before it got a lot more busy. I had their quiche of the day, which was Lorraine and it was excellent--lots of bacon and a sharper cheese (not sure what kind), and I hope to order this exact quiche again. I finally got their legendary onion soup, and the chef is clearly flexing his French skills here. It is perfectly prepared and you just can't go wrong with this menu item. Our server was a middle-age gentleman who certainly got the job done but any general warmth or friendliness was absent. The ambience and decor are somewhat old school but Cafe Provencal is really cute and cozy.
This is clearly my favorite French restaurant in St. Louis.
My wine group had dinner at Café P recently, and we had a good time.. In particular, the French Onion Soup stood out as being very good. Our entrees were tasty and the desserts too. None of the dishes were over salted and our server gave us some peace and quiet while we had a nice leisurely meal.
If I have a criticism it would be that I had hoped for a Cassoulet -- but that was not to be found on the menu which I though was odd in January. I would also have liked a cheese plate option for dessert. That said, it was a good experience.
