This is clearly my favorite French restaurant in St. Louis.

My wine group had dinner at Café P recently, and we had a good time.. In particular, the French Onion Soup stood out as being very good. Our entrees were tasty and the desserts too. None of the dishes were over salted and our server gave us some peace and quiet while we had a nice leisurely meal.

If I have a criticism it would be that I had hoped for a Cassoulet -- but that was not to be found on the menu which I though was odd in January. I would also have liked a cheese plate option for dessert. That said, it was a good experience.

Great service and food. However,
$3.00 for olive oil and $2.00 for balsamic vinegar, really!! Trade it for the butter. No one used that. No one told us there was a charge for that. We have been to cafe provencal many times. It was a lovely evening, but that is ridiculous.

This is one of our favorite restaurants when we are in St Louis:)

Whether we are in the mood a full 3/4 course meal or for appetizers and dessert... nothing beats Café Provençal !!

The servers and bartenders are experienced, friendly, and professional.

Parking: Don't worry :)

Kid-friendliness: While a mature teen might enjoy the cuisine; this elegant, small gem of a restaurant provides adults the opportunity to escape to La Belle France and savor the exquisite flavors of Provence.

Wheelchair accessibility: Those needing the space a wheelchair requires might ...
1. make reservations to eat outside on a beautiful spring/fall evening
or
2. order takeout and enjoy the chef's creations in a comfortable space of your choosing

Great place for a slow evening meal with friends or family. We have been here several times. The food is great. Always had good food here. Ya, it's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Check this place out for your next outing.

Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free stuff.

This is a gem of a restaurant in a shopping center in Kirkwood, a suburb of St Louis. The scallop appetizer was outstanding, and the caesar salad was the best I've had in a long time. For my main dish, I ordered a 6-oz fillet with bernaise sauce and fries. The steak was tender and the fries were delicious. Next time, I would probably have them omit the sauce. For dessert, I had an enjoyable slice of lemon tart. The service was excellent, and the ambience was that of a Paris bistro.

We had not been to this restaurant in a number of years. We had had great experiences before so decided to give it a try for our wedding anniversary. What a way to ruin an anniversary. First, the table we sat at wobbled terribly and the chairs were extremely uncomfortable. The restaurant was so warm it was ridiculous and also uncomfortable. I looked up from my table and there were wine bottles right above where I was going to be eating my meal with at least 1/2 inch of dust and cob webs between the bottles. The service was HORRIBLE! Two of the workers changing a table next to us were obviously very unhappy from their conversation and were slamming the chairs back into place (the tables are way too close together). Our waiter was awful and he took forever between bread, salad and dinner. By the time we got the dinner (at least an hour after we ordered), it was drenched in oily butter, and tasted as if it had been heated up in a microwave. Lastly, the restroom smelled as if there was a sewer line problem. If spending $100+ on a meal….this is extremely sub-par. We will NOT be back.
