Wanted a bite to eat 2 hours before dodgers and cards and ballpark village was a 2 hour wait. Decided to walk and try out caleco's. Great choice. They had a wait for tables but we sat at the bar. Heather was outstanding. Ordered med rare burger, well done, no big deal, short staffed like everywhere else.
Excellent food and service. From the greeter to the very busy server all were attentive and kept checking in with us. Pasta was delicious. We had Chicken Carbonara, and Cajun pasta.
My experience was at 10pm on a Sunday night so this may have had something to do with our experience. Staff did not greet us for well over 5 minutes. A bus person came up and he told us without asking him anything, so not order streaks, burgers or chicken breast, they are awful. The cook over does them and you will not like and so they will do is say next time we will give you a deal. Odd I thought. Finally got seated and waitress seemed tired and didn't want anymore customers, she even stated as they were saying another table, I said no more. She was pleasant and did a very good job checking with us. Pasta with sausage was good but instead of creamy parm sauce it was separated and a butter sauce. Tasted fine though. Place was clean and nice inside.
First time eating here. We stopped by after the cardinals game, as we were walking back to our hotel. My hubby got the turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes. Wow, LARGE servings! I had pizza, and it was very good. Their house salad and hot bacon dressing was outstanding! Definitely will be returning!
Toasted ravioli was tiny, over cooked, over priced, and not good. Took over an hour for a 10 inch St Louis style pizza to come out. Waiter was avoiding our table and barely stopped by. A table next to us sat down after us and got their larger pizza before us. Poor service and not the greatest food.
On my visit home to St. Louis, my friend, and I stopped at this establishment, on Fathers' Day 6-20-21.We were told by the Hostess, that our table would be ready in 10 minutes, she suggested we go into the bar to wait. The bartender, who said she had just started her shift, informed my friend, and I, that our table WOULD be ready, but food orders, were taking 45 minutes, to 1 hour, to be served!!!!While I realize, that the Pandemic is strongly an issue, communication between staff members should not be.
This place has a fun ambiance, great service and is conveniently located close to the arch. My husband had the seafood pasta and loved it! My toddler had the spaghetti with meat sauce and ate the entire plate! I had the chicken Cesar salad and a side of white pasta. The white sauce had a great flavor but my Cesar salad came with way too much dressing, so I recommend asking for dressing on the side. It also didn't taste like a traditional Cesar dressing, but it still have a fine flavor. This would be a great restaurant where everyone in a group could find something they'd like!
Had chicken carbonara with marinara sauce, club sandwich. Great food and atmosphere. Was busy since the cards won and people were celebrating. Big portions and delicious food. Med price but worth it.
Every time I come into St. Louis, I find my way inside of Caleco's Bar & Grill. Whether it's' for the drinks, the women, or the food, it's a good safe place to go eat. I enjoy coming here and the staff is really friendly and warm. One of the few bright spots in the cit.
Food was fantastic. Service was great! The atmosphere was wonderful. Prices were extremely reasonable.

Really disappointing. Stopped for lunch while waiting for our tour at the Arch. Generally unfriendly staff; too much attitude. At least three were pretty grouchy. Our server wasn’t helpful or knowledgeable with the menu. When I asked him what a St. Louis hotdog was, his reply was “I don’t know, I’m from New York.” Turns out it was nothing special and the bun was old bread to boot. The only thing that saved this place from one star was the clam chowder, which was very good. Not enough, however, to save it from a bad review. Do yourself a favor and find someplace else to eat.
This place is terrible, save your money or spend it else where. Not only did the manager and host act like they couldn’t seat us. But our server literally came out and said the cooks spit in our food because we weren’t “out”. We drove hours to come celebrate Pride with the community and our server was very unprofessional. Our love is very real. This is another place where if you aren’t friends with the staff, don’t expect to be treated fairly. Very Anti LGBT stay away!
I love the Lasagna and typically the service however our last visit on the night of 6/1 was not a good experience at all!!! The waitress was horrible, very standoffish and just plain uninviting. I’m not sure how long we sat there before she even acknowledged us and once she did it didn’t get better from there. We sat at the bar for dinner and it wasn’t busy she just was unfriendly and miserable ?. We won’t be back!
Is hard to tell what kind of restaurant this is from the inside, but food was ok. Price was reasonable for a tourist area. I would not mind going back again.
Amazing staff, amazing food. I was here 6 years ago and came back and glad I did. Tasha and brook were amazing!!
