Very unfriendly. Said thank you as I made my way to my car past a worker that was smoking outside of the establishment, didn't even say you're welcome. The clientele seems to be of the same sort of temperament. I was dressed differently than the 'uniforms' of all the customers and staff so, it's safe to say they are not very accepting of outsiders that are not cookie cutter whatever group they are. I was nothing but friendly to everyone in there. Friendly, courteous, kind, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. Not returned though. Had to have been because I wasn't in 'proper attire'. Remember the clothes don't make the man people. But to this society, the clothing IS the man.

Great place to hang out and have some drinks if you like a dive bar atmosphere. Cash only but they have an ATM on site. Everything's cheap. They don't serve food but generally they're fine with you bringing food from somewhere else as long as you're cool about it. Great patio spaces when the weather's nice.

AWFUL experience!!! I tried to go for my 21st birthday here and the staff was rude and literally ruined my night! I went with a large group and have been here before I turned 21 and have never had a problem in the past, always just gotten black X's on the hands and let to enjoy friends shows. When we went to give ID's we explained we had ONE friend under 21 who did not plan on drinking and already had X's on hands. We were there to support our friend and their band and so I could have a few drinks. We each pulled out roughly 30 to spend already and were told we needed to leave now. We sat at tables outside for a few minutes trying to plan something else to do before the bartender came out and yelled at us for still being there. She then proceeded to tell us places that we could go to get our UNDERAGE friend drunk, something she didnt even want to do. Absolutely awful experience, nowhere does it say its a 21+ venue only and even people in some of the bands were underage and were not told to leave.

This is true to the rep. A real dive but only in that It has pinball, darts, a tiny bathroom, Long Island Iced Tea and the most pleasant "Nick Fury" I've ever met. That's not the "Tea" talking.

Sarin Reaper? More like scared of peepers. The bathroom at CBGB does not lock.
Weeeeiird bar. The bartender was very mean to me because I asked for two tequila shots and she ends up bringing me two reposado tequila shots and we were like "oh- can we get silver?" And she was throwing a fit because she had to get us silver tequila and said it costed more. She then threw down the tequila shots suuuper hard and in a very unnecessary way. Also, it's usually the other way around... repo usually costs more than blanco. The group I came with was from the bar that I worked at and we always serve blanco tequila if someone asks for any kind of tequila drink or shot unless specified otherwise. Weird first experience and not sure the bartender knows what she is doing. It's also very hard to get her attention which is crazy because it's such a small bar! ~ Btw it's cash bar only ~
