Chilanguita Mexican Kitchen

This was my first visit to Chilanguita and I was VERY disappointed. The food was tasteless chain-Mexican fare - I asked for hotter sauce and it was still far too bland. The server was indifferent and bored - and never available when needed. The music in the bar area was loud and pulsating, and the phony neon decor was all too fitting with the lack of authenticity and originality that this restaurant exudes. Too top it all off, I ordered a single Woodford on the rocks to start and was shocked to find it was $15 on my bill. That's more than Capital Grill charges! In short, the food was bad and overpriced, the service and atmosphere were awful, and I would highly recommend it be avoided if you are looking for flavorful Mexican food. The parking was convenient, however.

I have liked this place for a long time. I ordered birria tacos tonight and my food came out with a baby roach in it. Very unclean, please don’t take your children here. Good food, horribly unclean.

The food here is amazing! I selected the chicken burrito. The food was hot, fresh & flavorful! Chips and salsa were tasty as well. The server was friendly and attentive. Our server Luisa was extremely friendly. We will definitely be back!

Ordered a steak torta to go. It was good. A lil bit pricey for me, I paid about $16 for it. They usually go for about $10-$13. Still good!

Gorgeously decorated with the most Devine mojito cocktail but my favorite is the steak fajita. I will be back regularly. The staff are wonderful and I can't say enough good about this amazing place.

Too expensive for lunch when its the same quality and quantity of food as the other Mexican restaurants in the region

The food is good but the service could have been better. Waitress never filled my water. She filled water at the table next to mine and then vanished. Then 15 minutes later another man came to my table and asked “is everything ok?” By this point I was done eating so I asked for the check and some water. He filled my glass with room temperature water and offered me the check.

The food is good and the margarita was yummy. But we went a good 20 minutes without a server and when we ordered another round of drinks it never came. Another 15 minutes later and the bill comes with those drinks on the ticket. They did remove them but it wasn't a great experience.

This is hands-down one of the best Mexican restaurants in St. Louis - it deserves a perfect 5.0 rating. The food is consistently phenomenal: bursting with flavor, perfectly cooked, and honestly, I’d put it above El Catrin any day. The guacamole is to die for, and every dish I’ve tried has exceeded expectations.

The service is just as impressive. We often have the pleasure of being served by Dayan, who is incredibly warm, attentive, and service-oriented - she makes every visit feel special.

If you leave here unhappy, I can only assume one of two things: you’ve had COVID so many times you lost your taste buds, or you were just having a really bad day. Either way, don’t let that sway you - this place is a gem, and you won’t be disappointed.

Not only did the food arrive late because of the restaurant. I asked for the soup to be spicy and it was literally bland.

I typically do not leave bad reviews but the sopa ramen was bad. Do NOT get it
