Chilanguita Mexican Kitchen

The restaurant had an unpleasant odor—my partner thought it was strong floor cleaner, but to me, it smelled musty. The food was decent but overpriced for the quality. Service was average. I had a severe stomach illness hours after my meal, for about 24 hours. I don’t have proof it was from here. Could be coincidence, but it’s worth mentioning.

BEST GUACAMOLE IN STL HANDS DOWNNNNN, a sprinkle of pepper and salt and WOW, I have had guacamole this good ONCE in my life and have never been able to find it elsewhere.

Salsa isn’t spicy, but superrrrr fresh and they keep it coming!!!!

Also service is amazing!!! I work in customer service so I have very high standards and they execute above and beyond those standards. They are quick, super friendly, super attentive (water, chips, and salsa all stayed full), the vibe overall felt great. Literally love love love.

The only issue I have with this place is that I don’t come here enoughhhhh!!!!!! Hidden gem.

I got the Birria tacos, as per usual, I sometimes get the chile relleno. Love them both. That Birria was LOADED up. My mom’s chile relleno was HUMONGOUS!!!! This was my first time getting gauc…….. ALSO the mango margarita on the rocks???? You’re kidding, literally so good. I also only have taken a couple of sips so please trust and believe my review isn’t being influenced by anything besides the flavor and the service. Also it is pretty cute here too… I do enjoy the neon signs…

Update: the drinks are strong-ish, but certainly don’t taste it, feeling fuzzy off of one! :)

I should preface this by saying I'm extremely picky about Mexican food and margaritas. We ate here on father's day. The service was so very friendly and the staff were all warm and welcoming. The margaritas were surprisingly strong (weak margaritas are the bane of my existence) and super delicious. The food was quite above average and the prices were reasonable. We left slightly buzzed, and with full bellies. Excited to have another Mexican restaurant to add to our rotation, and looking forward to going back soon.

Place was busy! Chips and salsa were excellent, along with the queso, but the food (we had a burrito and carnitas) were kinda just ok. Not a ton of flavor. Margaritas were ok, very sour mixy. The decor was awesome, and it was a loud and fun place to be.

Great Food, Great Specials!

I have been there many times, and I have always received great service from all the waitresses. Carolina and Luisa will make you feel welcome and brighten your day. I've been through most of their menu and even asked them to pick a meal they thought was the best for me, and I was happily surprised at how wonderful it was. When they first opened, I had a going-away party for a friend with 12 people, and they could not have been more accommodating. Sidenote: if you've not had the choriqueso dip, you are in for a treat.

This place is amazing. The building itself is amazing. Lots of bright colors, neons and artwork.
The food and drinks match the decor. Full of balanced flavor.
The service was great as well.
