Service was good but not over the Top price pointbis a bit crazy for the quality of food recieved a medium rare cut of the “chefs cut of the day” with no knowledge to what it even was, very very tough not to mention 16$ drinks with The base liquor being Jose Cuervo overall the ambiance was odd, the food was not worth the price point but i cant say anything bad about the service it was the best part of the experience

Our neighbors recommended we try Commonwealth, and we are grateful they did! The service was excellent, the drinks and food were delicious, and the atmosphere was just right for a date night. The pace of the meal was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant!

7 Feb. 2026 (Saturday), 6:00PM reservation. We arrived about 10 min early for our 6:00pm reservation. We had booked the dinner for pre-Fox Theater show (7:30 curtain) dining. We were immediately seated and water was served, about 5 minutes later a waitress took our drink and dinner orders. It went a bit slow from there. Our soup arrived first, roughly 45 minutes after ordering. No drinks except the water yet. About 5 min later, our drinks came, then about 10 more minutes, our food came. The meals were OK, (Shrimp and Grits & Chicken Marsala). I'm not sure what the delays were caused by, but the wait staff was apologizing to everyone a lot. The long delay in recieving our pre-dinner drink orders probably soured the rating the most for us. Also, the Margharita was ordered with salt on the rim, but when delivered, came without any salt. Considering the long delay in receiving the drinks, we did not ask to have it corrected. The Commonwealth is very conviently located close to the Fox Theater. I would expect that they should be able to anticipate a pre-show surge and be prepaired to serve their customers in a more timely manner, or limit the reservations so your bar, waitstaff, and kitchen are not overwhelmed. If you are charging in excess of $50 per diner for one drink and dinner you should do better.

our reservation was @6, we were on time, our order was taken @ 6:15, never received food until 7:09, we had to make theatre at 7:30, I have never had such a bad experience there, if they saw they had all the reservations coming in, stock up on kitchen help

As a vegetarian I was a little hesitant about the menu offerings, but I have to say that the vegetarian/vegan entree on the menu was absolutely phenomenal...a tofu tikka masala. I would eat it again tonight! My companion had the recommended chicken noodle soup, which he nearly drank the broth from at the end, he said it was that good. We had wonderful service from the team. The restaurant was filled at dinner hour on a Friday night and we watched the plated foods going to various tables. Everything looked beautifully presented. I'd recommend this restaurant in a heartbeat and will definitely be there again.

Really convenient before a play at The Fox. Diverse menu. Excellent drinks. The service was friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt. The food was quite good albeit a little pricey. I would absolutely return.

Excellent restaurant for dining prior to attending an event at either the Fox Theatre for Powell Hall. Our host was friendly, warm and inviting. Also, our wait staff was warm and professional and answered our questions in a polite and clear manner. I recommend this restaurant without any reservations, which is very rare for me.

The service was friendly at this restaurant. And it was not busy so the food was out quickly.

On November 15, 2025, I had an amazing dining experience. Dinner was absolutely delicious! I ordered the seafood ravioli, and let me tell you—this dish was extremely delicious. Our table also ordered the lamb chops and the salmon, and everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection.

Chef Brian came out personally, and we had the pleasure of thanking him for the time, care, and patience he put into our meals. The flavors spoke for themselves.

I also want to shout out our server—I didn’t catch her name, but she had pink hair. She was fun, attentive, and very professional throughout the entire evening.

Overall, this was a great experience, and I will definitely be back!

I liked the atmosphere. Very busy, pre-theatre. Seemed to have 1 server, with lots of help. Food. My husband had the shrimp and grits. Good, could have been seasoned more. I had the Grand Burger, very good flavor. The pretzel bun and Gouda, very good. There was also bacon and French fried onions on top. I didn't eat those. I did enjoy the jam beneath the burger. Coffee was lukewarm and the chocolate cake was just ok. Would I go back? Yes, the salads looked delicious as did the flatbread.

Audrey was a great server! She had a lot of tables to tend to and she did a great job while remaining calm and pleasant. The room had a nice visual aesthetic but was freezing cold. The wine by-the-glass selection was very minimal, underwhelming, and overpriced. The scallop dish sounded wonderful - and the scallops themselves WERE good - but the dish didn't live up to my expectations. I watched the bar tender turn away several people from a nearly empty bar because they didn't have reservations. That felt pretentious. I likely won't return.
