I wanted to try something different from the menu. I decided to go with the blackened chicken salad based off the reviews. I hate I chose this as an option!! It wasn’t pleasing to my taste pallet at all the pears, blue cheese, pecans and onions is not a perfect blend. However, the chicken alone was tasty. The blue cheese over powers the vinaigrette(which wasn’t bad).for the price I expected much more in quantity (enough to have for later) and taste. I really do hate my friends decided to treat and their money was wasted. Thanks for lunch but the restaurant really needs to revamp their salad menu.

Let me start with: I have traveled the US and eaten a lot bbq. I have even won a few BBQ competitions…I stopped here while traveling through town. If this is the best St Louis has to offer, I feel sorry for the people in the reviews saying this is the best in town.Got the brisket sandwich and it was barely mediocre. It had no smoke ring, smoke flavor, and fat was not even rendered. It’s honestly more similar to Arby’s roast beef than smoked brisket. I actually would choose Arby’s over their brisket. The 6 sauces at the table were not good at all and forgettable. There was no balance of flavor in any of them.2 stars for staff. They were all friendly.

Best BBQ I have had in a long while. Salt and Smoke and SugarFire has NOTHING on this place. Must try even if you have to go out of your way. Large portions and add a second side for only a $1.

The food from this establishment is Amazing.I ordered the pulled chicken, 1/2 slab of ribs. The sides that I ordered were the Macaroni and Baked Beans. Those baked beans are some of the BEST baked beans that I’ve ever had. My mouth is watering thinking about them. The rib was superb and falling off of the bone. The Mac and pulled chicken were pretty good as well. The counter service could be a little more happier/personable as far as greeting and assisting with ordering.

It's a BBQ place so ambiance is what you would expect. But they have great food, it comes out quickly and they always have new sides to try. One warning: if you order smoked turkey for thanksgiving, it has a spicy rub on it and so doesn't fit with a traditional savory (sage/thyme etc) vision if that's your goal. It is delicious though if that flavor is what you want!

We went here for lunch with my officemates and the moment I entered the place I know I'm going to get a good barbecue.. The ambiance is great that the smell of good bbq is in the air.. I thought they had burnt ends but they don't so I just went with the brisket plate with mac & cheese and baked beans. The service is great, it's the typical ordering up front and then they'll call your name to know where you sit and bring your food to your table. Our food was delivered quickly. And there's not a long line, so we're lucky as my friend told me they are really popular that line builds up all the way outside. The brisket is OK, I smoke my own brisket and so I find their brisket and actually any other mass produced brisket to be of lesser quality that what I make. But I would say it's not bad at all. I see a little of smoke ring, the meat is juicy, I just felt there's something missing in the taste, but hey, I did not use any of their sauces which for me means I'm eating a good bbq. The sides is what really made me give them 5 stars. That I would say is the best baked beans I have ever had.. no kidding.. it's not dry and it's full of flavor that is not just plainly bbq sauce in it. There's certainly magic done in their beans. There are shreds of meat in there and it's not overwhelming the beans. This will be my go to side when we come back here. The mac & cheese is right there at the top for me. I love the cheddar in it and the crust poured on top compliments it. I am sure to bring the family here when we're in the area. Highly recommended!

This is no Kansas City BBQ, but it’s pretty decent for what it is.I’ve been here a number of times and found burnt ends to be the most flavorful item on the menu. Burnt ends are also the most tender item on the menu and they sell out fairly quickly.Brisket is not bad, but not what I expected as I have cooked a more flavorful brisket myself on a pellet grill. It is still worth it nonetheless.

Jack fruit nacho was delicious. The owner kept coming up to me and asking about My food and stuff and served me a little so that was nice. The sauces were all good too.

I always get their ribs or pulled ribs and the fried fire and ice pickles - love them! Pulled pork is good as well. They also have sweet tea, which as a girl from the south, I find it difficult to find sweet tea in 'these parts', so that makes me extra happy! Picture is my leftover pickles from my double order at lunch - they're even good cold. Walked in the Saturday before Mardi Gras and they were having a Mardi Gras feast, complete with Zydeco music playing!

We need to get out more because we had no idea this little gem even existed! Now that we know, we will be back because the food is phenomenal. When we arrived there was a short line, but being close to dinner time it wasn't terrible and it moved pretty fast. I was a little sad to hear they were sold out of burnt ends so I'll hopefully get to try those next time. We both opted to get combo plates so we could share a bunch of different stuff. My husband got the brisket and pull pork, I got a 1/2 slab of ribs and smoked ham. For sides we chose mac n cheese, baked beans, potato salad and the braised cabbage with green beans. As an after thought we also added an order of hush puppies and some banana pudding for dessert. Ribs: meaty, fall off the bone tender, with a nice crust and a great smoked flavor. Brisket: I'm not normally a fan of brisket because it's a little fattier than I'd care for but this one was done really well. They slice it super thin so the fattiness of it is more tolerable (and easier to pick off). It was very tender and had good flavor. Pulled pork: this was excellent. Someone took the time to clean most of the fat from it and you could tell. Lots of flavorful, tender chunks of meat and almost no fat. Smoked ham: it was delicious and sliced super thin. The perfect blend of salty, smoked goodness that melted in my mouth. I bet it would also be great on an omelet for breakfast. Mac n cheese: you're either a crust lover or you aren't. Unfortunately, I am not. But those that are will appreciate theirs very much. The Mac itself was creamy and cheesy and had the slightest taste of jalapeño. Not in a spicy way, just in flavor. Overall it was tasty. Baked beans: sweet and tangy with a hint of brown sugar and pieces of pork mixed in. They were really good. Potato salad: mustard base with a tiny bit of sweet. Definitely homemade and made with love. It was also really good. Braised cabbage and green beans: absolutely delicious. The cabbage was nice and tender, the greens beans were too. They were flavored nicely but could have used a little more salt. That was an easy fix and once I did, they were yummy. Hush puppies: oh my god, I'll have dreams of these little fried balls from heaven. They were seasoned perfectly and had just the right crunchy outside with a soft warm inside. They were really really good and I'd order these all by themselves as a snack. Banana pudding: personally, I am not a fan of bananas in any form but my husband is and according to him it was awesome. The cookies were still fresh and crisp, there were some nice chunks of banana and he would gladly order it again. Overall, we enjoyed the meal very much and the portion sizes were so generous, we will have an entire meal for later tonight or tomorrow, but we look forward to it.
