Diablitos is definitely hidden gem. The food is delicious, highly recommend the queso. Margaritas are pretty average. Everything is on the expensive side for a Mexican restaurant.

Very good hole in the wall Mexican downtown! Little expensive, but I think it's worth it! It's an order at the bar and they bring it out to your seat place, but that shouldn't turn you away from this great place!

Came here before a comedy show in a Saturday night and it was surprisingly pretty good. It's a bit in the expensive side, but it's a great little eatery in the St. Louis area. They have great margs and some solid food. This is a great place to hang out and get drinks with friends or a date on a cute patio!

We tried out Diablitos on Saturday night, and was surprised how empty it was. The house margaritas, chips, house salsa, and queso were all fantastic. For the price, the tacos were just okay. Overall, it's a fun spot.

We went here for dinner on a Saturday evening. The ordering process was a little confusing. You order your food at the counter but many of the items did not have a description so it was difficult to figure out what was included in each dish. We were about to leave but noticed 2 menus on a table near the entrance that had descriptions. We started with the guacamole which was okay but not super flavorful and a pitcher of lime house margarita which was good. For entrees I had the Austin which I enjoyed. The portion was perfect. My girlfriend had 3 tacos (fried shrimp, mezcal steak, and bacon and chicken ranchero). She really enjoyed the fried shrimp taco but was disappointed with the amount of meat on the steak taco (it only had 5 small pieces)

We went last night with some friends and I was sadly very disappointed. Last night was our first time going to the location on west pine. For years we would go when they were located on Lindell. Overall, Lindell was Amazing in too many ways to count. First off, the restroom was absolutely disgusting it was dirty and muddy. You now order at the counter and they have bizarre hours. I had my heart set on pineapple braised pork corn tamales. I went to order and the guys said they were out. They were never out on Lindell! The margarita was crazy crazy strong to even hardly was delicious. It was also dirty in the dining room. I really was hoping for better.

Moved to St Louis recently. This place is simply bad. The verde and hot salsa was the most bland salsa I've ever had. I can make a better beef taco at home. Steak taco and margarita were solid, which keeps it a 2* not a 1*. May be the worst Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Do not go here if you are visiting SLU or St. Louis. Service was good and nice though, kudos to the staff.

So I've just now discovered this hidden gem! So if you want to try something delicious as these tamales! Come here! We got the order to go. They are sooo friendly, I would have to stop inside to actually see the atmosphere. Now that we are getting back in the mode of trying new places after covid! This burrito was good as well! But I love the cheese! I do recommend the refried beans be a little softer. Or maybe that's just how they come with bean particles. Would definitely be coming back! Well done indeed!

Came here for the first time this past Saturday, was very pleased with everything. Had the old school tacos which were really great, and the Cabo San Rita margarita was excellent! Would recommend this place and hope to come back in the future.

We ordered a bunch of take out today. I asked for no brown guacamole. It was all brown, which made it inedible in my opinion. The refried beans were on oddly spiced. We had fajitas and a bunch of salsas and guacamole. The salsas were interesting

I hadn't been here in a couple of years. Hugely,Hugely disappointing! Food was horribly bland!! The salsa I ordered tasted like a can of tomato sauce with a shot of hot sauce. Bland!! Both meals we ordered were tasteless. No flavor whatsoever! I won't be back. Quite honestly;Taco Bell has far more flavor than the food we ordered. Plus it was downright cold in there!! Not pleasant at all. But mainly the food was horrible. Probably the worst Mex I have tried here in St Louis. Do not waste your time unless you are so wasted that it doesn't matter. I had high hopes but I wasted a lot of money and came away very, very dissatisfied!!

I had to make a Yelp account just to share our experience at this hidden gem... Totally worth it. What a find! My fiancee and I actually wandered in here in exasperation; she is 6 months pregnant and we had had an unexpectedly long day at the nearby SLU campus where she is finishing up her degree. Two of her appointments had ran long, so a quick trip to meet with her TA and study group ended up taking until almost 4 o'clock. We stumbled out tired, cranky, and near weak from hunger. I whipped out my phone and just looked for the nearest place. Neither of us had heard of Diablitos Cantina, but we gave it a shot anyway. Boy, what a pleasant surprise! Right away, the decor set the place apart from standard Mexican cuisine. It just felt more playful, personal, and exciting. It really sets a great mood for the meal to come. Which, by the way, was delicious! I picked three very filling tacos at a reasonable price from their extensive selection, and my fiancee ordered (and devoured) the "14 inch taco", which, unlike Subway, is an accurate name. I sampled that, too (in spite of the hungry lady's protest) and my God... I think I have a new favorite local spot. We didn't get to try any of their impressive drink menu, but it is most assuredly something were both looking forward to when we can. The vibe in the restaurant almost demands an accompanying salty marg or cervesa. Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the staff. We were waited on my Paul, who was quite a friendly, attentive, and warm host in spite of his mask. While we waited, we got to know the bubbly and inviting cool Kimmie, who made us feel like we had our own personal chef. She was the one who convinced us that the 14" taco was the right way to go, and boy was she right. I have no idea how this great little place with the fun ambiance and good people and great food has escaped our attention for so long, but it was such a delight to discover it the way we did, so we're good with it. But I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and special meal anytime soon.

I hate to make such a negative review but I don't want people to spend good money on this place when there are plenty of options around!
