Call before you arrive- this location had over 15 seniors standing outside waiting for the establishment to open alwhile it was closed. I Lyft there and saw everyone outside. This is the best soul food you’ll eat! However call BEFORE YOU GO.

My first time here. Went on a Sunday and got lucky that it wasnt crowded. I walked in and the first thing I noticed was the AC was NOT working. I got the short ribs, mac n cheese, sweet potatoes, greens, hot water cornbread, and peach cobbler. Only the ribs and cobbler were good. The greens had no seasoning or meat and were mushy. The sweet potatoes had way too much cinnamon and nutmeg, the mac n cheese was creamy but not cheesy, and the cornbread tasted old. I was hoping I had found a new soul food go to spot but the quest continues.

Open space where all foods are put in to go even if you stay. Sanitary, as you touch nothing, servers are gloved and no cross contamination. One on meat, one on veggies/sides & another on bread + condiments. Dessert is pre-boxed and handled by register checkout.
This will surely be a monthly restaurant for my family as price is right. My picky 27-yr old loved the mac n cheese while I disliked the excess salt on the green beans.
Make sure to read the menu board so you're ready to yell out your entire order at the window of many foods.

Rib tips were fatty and really small and you could taste lighter fluid not good and the fried wings needed to be cooked longer and any side that has juice or liquid in it should be served in a separate container as fried foods!

Honestly, I am torn between opinions. I appreciate the soul food and for the most part my turkey meatloaf meal was delicious. I have been several times and always tip. I asked for a little more gravy on my dressing because it is only good with the gravy and I was told I was given the proper serving. What happened to making the customer happy. It cost $19 for a turkey meatloaf meal with 2 sides and I was denied a little extra gravy!! Not to mention I bought a chicken wing meal and a whole brisket meal. I spent 68 dollars for 3 plates and I couldn't get a little extra gravy. Now, it may be petty of me, but I won't be back anymore. I think it's petty of the server to deny me extra gravy. I mean, really. I would have paid for it.

I went to DHE for a special Mothers Day dinner, and the food was spectacular!!! The atmosphere was light-hearted, the conversations flowed freely and everyone definitely looked like they were enjoying themselves as well!!!
