Nice family owners. When they run out of pastry you have to come back later.

We love El Chico so much! We asked them if they would provide cookies for our wedding (after a different dessert vendor stopped responding to us), and we are honestly so happy we ended up with them! El Chico was so easy to work with, so kind, and so helpful. We already knew their baked goods were delicious (we always stop for some cookies at the Tower Grove Farmer's Market), but our guests raved about the empanadas. I couldn't recommend them enough - whether it's an order for an event or just stopping in and grabbing some treats while you're on Cherokee! (photo is by Rachel Myers Photography)

Nice authentic Mexican bakery. They have large tamales on Saturdays. I can never get out of there without getting something to share with family.

Great customer service and friendly staff that will help you make sure you are satisfied with your purchases. Amazing pastries and cookies are fairly soft for how big and thick they are

Stopped in here for some stress eats after ah abysmal experience at a resto across the street. My daughter chose a tri-colored sugar cookie (looked like Neapolitan, but all the flavors were the same, which the incredibly kind employee gave us a heads up on), a sugar covered croissant, and, as a last moment grab, a bag of day old breads. Service was wonderful, kind, and courteous. Sweets were good, but a bit hit or miss. Some items were better than others, some of the day olds tasted like maybe it'd been more than a day, but all in all it was satisfying and insanely cheap, so I'll definitely pop back in. All the tamales that day were pork, but I'd love to give some with other fillings a try on my next visit!
