Ordered DoorDash and received no chips/salsa. I guess they make you pay for that as an appetizer now. Only Mexican place I’ve ever bought or heard of not including it with the meal. Also, my enchilada had weird sauce on it. It was super sugary with unknown chunky substance in it.

Food is always good. The servers always seat you, take your order, serve your food, and then never come back. I come twice a week and I’m done after today. The last two times I’ve waited 20-30 minutes to see my server again to ask for a box. I’m usually in and out. Tip $8-10 for just me!! I’ve served so I’m the easiest to wait on but seriously … they just disappear.

Here is the deal! The food was outstanding. The atmosphere fit the type of food that they were serving. My wife's dress was courteous and friendly.

I went in this restaurant to door dash and I asked for an extra straw, when I say this funny looking server had the STANKEST attitude I’ve ever seen In my life. Like why are you mad? If I was in a different mood she would’ve got cussed out. I’m never going in there

I walked in it's a girl at the counter that's on the phone taking a order.. that's not the problem she's checking prices walking off and coming back to the phone never made eye contact with me at this point I have to be invisible she hangs up the phone never looking at me walks off and take a order from someone that is already sitting. She walks pass again I said I'm only here for a pick up, she said ok and go get there drinks.. then she goes to the back and being up Multiple orders by this time someone else has walked in behind me she pulls out the receipts and ask my name I told her She asks, can I show her a picture of the receipt to confirm who I am. I'm sure the receipt says Katrina. But ok, asked the lady her name and just hands her the order with no picture of a receipt, no confirmation. The difference between me and that woman and the people that were sitting down Is i'm a few shades darker.. Let's put it that way. And please don't get me wrong. I have came before and it was different people hosting and I was treated with respect and waaaay better at least acknowledged!!! this person really just sucks at he a job. Food was awesome though

I like my Mexican food experiences more boutique, but despite being a chain El Maguey always hits and has been consistent across the 3 or 4 different locations I’ve been to.

Fastest, best, cheapest lunch in town. The staff here are so warm and friendly. Food is very standard for a Mexican restaurant in STL, but made well. The mole here is fire, so try the enchiladas. The lunch menu prices cannot be beat. You can eat here cheaper than most fast food places and will leave so much more satisfied. Also a solid bar! Get a Cadillac Margarita!

I'm from Arizona and I have tried many of the Stl Mexican restaurants. But my favorite is El Maguey. Good service, good prices and really good food. I always order the chili Verdi dinner. Comparable to my favorite Arizona restaurants.
