I work in the area & was looking forward to trying Elaine's. I don't know if dude was having a bad morning or what exactly was going on but the vibe was nothing of what I expected. He spent several minutes fooling with the door, it would not unlock, while I just stood there waiting to order a sandwich.
I did not realize it could be hot or cold, I wanted it cold, he didn't ask, just but it through the toaster. I had ordered lettuce not noticing they dont have it listed as an option. I dont know what he intended to put on it since they didn't have what I ordered. So, I tell him, , , I didn't realize you were going to toast it & u dont have lettuce, , just wrap it, I will fix it at home. Absolutely not worth $12. Very disappointed, I was looking forward to a new lunch spot, this isn't it.
Listen… I’m a foodie and have done alot of traveling…. THIS hidden gem is one of the best sandwich spots I’ve ever had! You need to try this place 😍😍
Funky little sandwich shop. Fresh ingredients, fun menu, and delicious sandwiches. I work nearby and will definitely be going back for more
I live near Cherokee and this is my go to sandwich shop. It’s take out or patio dining only. They make fresh sammies with great bread and ingredients, and you can turn anything into a salad! I didn’t even like tuna salad before this place but now every time I order, I get the Lainey. My second favorite is the crunch and munch, wrap or salad. Thanks for being a great spot, yall! Keep it up ♥️
I love this place!! The people are really cool. The sandwiches will blow you away. Trashed chicken and bacon is a crwd pleaser!

Elaine’s is a reliable spot for a satisfying meal, and it’s a favorite among those who enjoy local sourced, flavorful sandwiches, wraps, and salads. She recently introduced Mac and Cheese with your choice of toppings that I would definitely recommend!

2016: It's a cozy little shop with a wide selection of sandwiches, all made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The staff here is warm and friendly; they encourage me to try new things each time I come in, and I love it!
2024: Bit of a decline. Smaller sandwiches, higher prices.

FYI the Garden Party Crunch sandwich is NOT vegetarian. There was no description and I made an assumption based on the name.... I was wrong

Just called up- (Sunday 12:50pm) to see if they had broth and we got hung up on the first time- called back up the second time, she picked up and told me straightaway that they were in the middle of a lunch rush and then slammed the phone down to get ingredients of the beef broth. (We have some dietary restrictions) She was not very kind at all. We just hung up the phone after she slammed the telephone down- because we don’t want that energy in our food. My goodness. Thank you for reading.

First time on Cherokee Street and happened upon this sandwich shop. I don't remember the name of the wrap special but it was 🔥. A good selection of craft sodas the chocolate chip and bacon cookie was good. Grateful Dead playing in the store was a bonus. It was on the radio but still worthy of mention. Will be back!
