UPDATE:
I spoke with Glen today and he made it right. He showed he genuinely cares about his customers. For that, I thank him and will be trying Flower Child again, and see how that goes.

Original Review:
I have ordered from here and went in person numerous times over the past year. In the last 3 months, it has really gone downhill. The last 2 times I went in person, the sweet potato fries were not able to be given to us because they said there was a 30 minute delay. They gave us macaroni instead which was nice, and promised a refund that I never received. Then, the last 3 doordashes the fries were hard, burnt, and inedible. It's a shame because I pay good money to eat healthier options at lunch, especially with my gallbladder being removed, so I can not worry about flare ups and feel confident that I can continue my work day, by eating healthier options, and not getting sick. This used to be my favorite place but I'm disheartened now. 😔 I wish it would let me upload the pics.

Flower Child instantly feels like a burst of happiness! The moment walking in, there’s a huge, refreshing jug of lemon-lime water—so bright and zesty, it’s the perfect way to start any healthy meal adventure. Ordered the Avocado Caesar Salad with extra salmon, and it was so fresh, creamy, and full of flavor—every bite felt like a treat. The sweet potato fries on the side were crispy, sweet, and totally addictive. Flower Child really nails fresh food, health-conscious vibes, and friendly staff. Already dreaming about my next trip for their salads, salmon, and creative veggie sides!

Service was a mess. It’s counter style ordering however they have no paper menus. So everyone is kind of standing around trying to decide what they want and then people are just cutting in front of others. The people at the counter weren’t asking who was next so people didnt even know the cashier was taking orders. It was weird. Aside from that the food was good and it was a clean restaurant. Just wish they would have better counter service.

I recently had Flower child for the first time out of state and I must admit it taste way better at that location (Woodland, TX) than it did here. Corporate if you see this please come and retrain this location, Mac & Cheese shouldn’t be watery, smashed potatoes should be mashed and creamy. It was very difficult eating the same meal I just had yesterday because they tasted different I’m going to try this location one more time and if it’s better I will update my review. The best part of my meal was the lemon olive oil cake.

I’ve been a consistent customer for the last few months and just recently learned from a server that the manager was let go. We used to pay compliments to the chef and we met him a couple times when he’d wish us a good night before we left. His departure makes a lot of sense to me considering that ever since then my meals there have been disgusting. I gave them two tries since then and both times the salmon AND the rice was undercooked. I asked to speak with the new manager (they said his name was Glen) and he never came, they took my plate and came back literally 3 minutes later and with the same salmon except colder…we noticed a difference because we noticed the other guy seemed to be the only one even doing anything in the restaurant. Unfortunate that we won’t be visiting here again-used to be our favorite place!

This was my first visit here, and it definitely won’t be my last. We came on a Saturday evening and chose to sit outside on the patio—it was spacious and peaceful. Every employee we encountered was so friendly and pleasant to talk with, which made the experience even better.

I ordered the Peruvian Braised Beef but substituted chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. The dish was full of flavor—the beans, rice, and red pickled onions were fresh and perfectly seasoned. There was also a generous amount of chicken, along with tasty homemade pickles. Everything came together beautifully.

Flower Chill is a modern, healthy spot in Frontenac with an open kitchen, lots of natural light, and even some outdoor seating. You order at the counter and they bring the food out, and the staff was super friendly and helpful.

The portions lean light for the price, but the ingredients are clearly fresh and good quality. I had the Peruvian beef, which was tasty and paired well with their green sauce that has just the right kick. I also tried a bite of the quinoa with corn from someone else’s plate — super good. The mango, and the peach teas were flavorful and refreshing (unsweetened). A nice choice for a healthier casual meal.

TL:DR - Eat here, you wont be disappointed and the staff is lovely!!

I love that the food is delicious AND healthy! Staff is very accommodating to allergies/sensitivities. A lot of dishes have multiple ingredients for complex flavors you typically don't get cooking quick meals at home.

For less complex, plain eaters but still appreciate deliciousness, I recommend chicken enchiladas, rebel french dip, or protein with two sides.

For those that like all of the flavors in one bite, the Mediterranean chicken kabob is my favorite bowl from the ones I've had (chicken yakisoba sub noodles for jasmine rice is my mom's favorite, and chicken enchiladas are the others I've tried). Carolina BBQ chicken wrap is really good and I loved the dressing that came with the side salad. I was surprised/impressed that my leftovers were just as good and not soggy at all the next day.

Sides - gluten free Mac & cheese, and chilled sesame noodles are my favorites. Fresh fruit was good smaller than expected for $6, broccoli was not cooked, I would say it wasn't even soft enough to be considered blanched but unsure if this is how it typically comes. Red chile glazed sweet potatoes are really good too.

Dessert - my mom loved the chocolate pudding that is both gluten and dairy free.

The staff was so wonderful, executing exemplary customer service. I didn't get her name but the woman with long blonde hair at the counter on the evenings of 9/22 - 9/24 was so helpful, acknowledged me as a repeat guest, and even asked about my mom who I was there visiting in the hospital.

Trendy and new. And because of this, very loud. Bowls are tasty but very small. If you add protein, bowl will cost you easily $20 and you'll still be hungry. If you're young, this is your place. If you're older-and hungry- maybe look elsewhere.
