I will give you a genuine assessment of the overall experience for two people dining at this establishment
Atmosphere: Upon arrival it’s a small cozy little cafe style restaurant. It looks like the place use to be an actual apartment or house at one point and they turned it into a cafe. They having seating on the outside as well as seating on the inside. There is no more than 7 or 8 small tables in the instead and about 3 or 4 outside. The place is clean and appears to be kept up.
Service: This isn’t considered a restaurant to the American standard. You place your order online with a QR Code that has on the table. You pay UP FRONT before you even get your food as if it were fast food style as well. You don’t actually have a designated waiter since you purchase your drinks online as well. The runner brings out your drinks and food. They come around to see if you need a refill but your cup may have been empty for a while.
Food: EVERYTHING IS almost A LA CARTE on the menu which makes the food high priced. The pancakes are their staple food they sell and they are $15 for two pancakes. We order 2 orders of pancakes, 2 sides of eggs, he ordered grits and i ordered the potatoes. The potatoes were great and the grits were very salty so he ended up eating my potatoes with me. For us both the eat it was nearly $80 for a regular breakfast with drinks.
Overall Experience: Was it worth the $80; not at all was the food decent yes, but it was high priced. I assume it’s because of location.
The food, environment, service style stands out here. This is the place to go and to send your friends. On a Sunday morning we put our names on the list for a table online, waited not all that long. Around maybe 30 min when 7 groups were ahead of our group of 4. The atmosphere is effortlessly cool. We ordered from the QR code on the table and the food and drinks were sent straight to our table. While we loved every single thing we ordered our stand out orders were- The Grits(O.M.G), the goat cheese omelette, the grits topped gumbo, and the matcha.
I will return- and I will send my friends.
Notable mention was the gold stars those of us who finished our food received. ⭐️
This is the best brunch in South StL!!! I love everything about the establishment from the music, to of course the food, the staff(Emily is heavem sent) and the decor. This is a true example of small business. The ordering process is done through your phone from a QR code and delivered right to your table. The decor is quirky and unique and the food is fresh and delicious like eating at grandma's house. I love that the establishment is BYOB and they offer seating both indoors and outside. I recommend the pancakes, hands down the best decision you'll ever make! Again fresh food, great staff, and beautiful environment.
The food was ok, people giving 5 start because food is getting so bad everywhere they have nothing to compare. Our pancakes were fried and super oily we could not eat it. You have to order from your phone and tip upfront. Eventually they will bring the food and you will not see them again they will not care whatever you like it or not. No water refills offered, no service our water glass had someone else lipstick on.
Thank you, but We will not be back.
Delicious food with magnificent layers of flavor in each dish. It is a small space with tables for 4 or 2, so most likely you will have to wait, but the wait is more than worth it.
The food is great but they will kick you out after 45 minutes even if you're not finished. Had to try and finish my drink while getting up off the table because they told us we had to leave. They try to rush too many people through which ruins the experience a lot. Also not a fan of ordering from your phone at a table.
The bomb! That’s all I have to say. Pancakes 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This place has some of the best food I’ve ever had. Thank you!

Amazing breakfast. The crispiest fries and potatoes + phenomenal pancakes. It is so rare to get a nice crisp on a pancake and Grand Pied has it perfected.

My mom and I tried to eat here for brunch. We spoke with the hostess about how we had been waiting for a long time at another breakfast place before coming here. She promised the wait was very short- only 15 minutes and put us on a waitlist. There were only 2 other people waiting. She took my number and 40 minutes later, we gave up on the waitlist app ever reaching out to us so we went home and cooked breakfast. I never received a text update on the waitlist. I won’t be back any time soon. I miss seed sprout spoon’s brunch.

Decadent food, kind service, and whoever picked the kickoff song for today's playlist chose well. It's hard to have a bad time with Wreckless Eric, Lou Reed and The Stooges playing in the background. Punk and pancakes. I'm happy. Oh, and the best grits I've ever had.

Initially went here for the shrimp and grits which ended up being a special. They did not have it and couldn’t accommodate for it. But I’d went ahead since I’d already waited and ordered a bowl of grits (MY GOD! LIKE GRANNY’S GRITS), the potatoes(IM A POTATO LOVER AND GEESSHHH THEY WERE AMAZING with their house made queso, and a few eggs! EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! Service was top tier and overall I’m glad I’d gave it a try! Definitely will be going back to try the beignets! My friend had the hot honey chicken sandwhich and fries with gravy extras!!! Let’s just say by the pictures you can tell it was GREAT!

The pancakes are really good. I get the kids version so I can portion out the amount of butter and syrup. Breakfast potatoes are also very good.
Join the waitlist about 30 minutes in advance so you do not have to wait.
