I came all the way from Texas and this was my first stop. I would enjoy coming here when I come home to visit. This time I was met with 2 young ladies who look Indian with bad attitudes and I was surprised. In the past I've been greeted with nothing but smiles... This time it was all sarcasm and attitudes. I ordered almost 70 worth of food and my noodles were dry and my order was incorrect. I guess I'll just go to my other favorite Chinese restaurant when I come home.... so sad ...updated post on 10-16-24

They will accept an order on Uber Eats even if they don't have enough food to make it.
Then, they'll blame you for not calling a day before, and act like they don't know how to cancel the order.

4 star when it comes to the special fried rice, they cook the rice very well.
Poor service for real. Always call and someone either irritated or just answers the phone and place you on hold for long periods of time.
Hopefully they get more workers so they won't feel overwhelmed. But service need mad improvement.

I would give a higher rating but the overall service and atmosphere has declined tremendously over my nearly 20+ years patronizing this location. The (2) young ladies who work at the front counter are terribly rude and lack customer service skills. The orders are taken out of sequence which confuses both the customers and staff, which leave numerous orders left unclaimed, incorrect, or incomplete. Unfortunate to write this review when I truly loved this place as a child and still do as an adult. Recommendation, replace front counter staff, open the lobby for more standing room, and renovate the dining room.

Born and raised in the Lou and is very familiar with this restaurant. I've been coming here for over 20 plus years, so whenever I come back into town, this is the 1st place I go for dinner. This particular trip was not good. First, the young lady who was either Indian? Bangladesh? I'm not sure of her ethnicity but was the rudest person. Mumbling under her breath when you're trying to give her your order that you have to repeat several times. When I got my order it's wrong the rice was really dark, burnt looking, and my ham was charred. The chicken wings literally were fried with a whole feather still attached to it, so that tells me they aren't cleaning their food they prepare.

I been going to this place for over 20+ years and Iām sad to say they need to let it go, no one one but two occasions did the burn the shrimp in my egg fu young then when I called the man son was so rude. Donāt go here!! He already told me they donāt care!

I've never had a bad experience going here and they have some great menu items my personal favorite is the orange chicken with some fried rice and some crab rangoons and a soda or two to go. I do wish they had sit down like they used to but I completely understand why they don't anymore.. a really great place nonetheless and some really friendly staff as well!

Today was my first time ever trying hong kong express and half way thru my container I found a baby caterpillar attached to my noodles and im very upset I've never in life had an experience like this and I will never eat from them again.

This use to be a great place to eat for cheap, they have gotten so high and they went up on prices before pandemic so they canāt use that for an excuse, I would still come but had to ask for prices on stuff because the board they have do not reflect the prices that they were charging and they would pass the charges to your debt and credit card if you spent under a certain amount and wouldnāt even tell you they did it, I went another time and order the same thing but pay different prices, I would ask why is the prices different every time I come. Then that is when they told me how they pass the price to the customers I told them itās your job to inform the customers on what you are doing before you charge them and they may get an option on this situation, that didnāt stop me from going I just started to use cash instead to avoid extra fees that were being passed to the people without their knowledge. They went up on prices again were a 1/2 box of rice $6 or more for pork and even more if you get anything else, extra onion or egg is $1 each and so on still no problem I would still go I begin to limit the amount of times I would go, now itās no meat in the rice if so itās all fat meat no onions anymore or old meat that look about 2 weeks old or older and still limited on that, we have to choose to be desperate or done with the none sense or foolish or being made a fool of, I canāt believe the health department havenāt made them up grade that place, ceiling look horrible and time for change all around the place even better attitudes with the people that work there, they treat people like garbage and thatās been for years and I have spoken to them about it, time for change and Iām refusing to return in 2023 to Hong Kong express
