Since 2012, I’ve enjoyed just a couple Chinese restaurants in STL. It’s just different, greasy with too much sauce. As a traveler & CA native, it’s rare to find fresh authentic, not over sauced (to cover the frozen stuff) option.
Service is very pleasant, it’s the standard “happily accepted” by locals.

I have been eating at House of Chen for many years. Food is still good and the price is excellent. The hot braised chicken wings/ or boneless is the best. I also recommend the chicken broccoli. Lunch specials are less than $10.

The food was OK. I kind of felt that I got ripped when I ordered a whole order of pork fried rice. It came to a little bitty small plastic container. I was very upset with that because a couple weeks prior I ordered a half order of fried rice and it pretty much came in the same plastic container. I like my rice to come in boxes like old-fashioned way. But the food was very good though I still come back

My favorite neighborhood Chinese. Best pot stickers around. Their service is always fast and friendly. Lucky to have them so close to home. Hidden gem.
