Fast and friendly service. Delicious food.

First off, this place is one of my favs when it comes to brunch. One of the best dishes to try if you have a sweet tooth is their Strawberry Shortcake french toast. I am not big on sweets (I can only take a couple solid bites) but it is very delicious and my partner devours it. If you don’t have such a sweet tooth, a less sweet (but still very delicious) alternative is the To Bee or Not to Bee French toast!

Their country fried steak is also pretty good and comes in a decent portion with hash browns and eggs cooked however you want. Finally, they have two options for shakes. You can do a boozy (alcoholic) shake, or a regular shake. I have tried both ways and a boozy shake is good if you are having a nice and fun brunch! It isn’t too strong and you are able to enjoy the flavor of the shake. Regular shakes are delicious and I have to say that the Cookies & Cream is still my favorite of all.

The staff are always very friendly and helpful. Some days and times are busier than others but the wait is worth it. I have never had any issues with any of the staff as they are all attentive. Parking can be limited, but you can always find free street parking down the street if you don’t mind the walk.

Had chicken and waffles and a ham omelet. Bacon bloody Mary to die for. We found our go to brekky spot in the Lou, that's for damn sure ! Can't wait for an excuse to go to the Lou, sooner than later ! À +++

Trendy and fresh! I had the lite skillet and an Irish coffee. The food was delivered quickly and was quite flavorful. The atmosphere was chic casual.

It was a fast seating & service. Great atmosphere & friendly people! It's a different kind of menu prepared to order...this is only my 2nd visit here & this option was a safer than the my last choice due to how they prepare their menu items (so inquire) this was very tasty, but texture wise it threw me off a bit & took me awhile to finish with my bowl of fruit! Maybe my toast needed to be more toasted due to topping

A wonderful brunch spot in STL serving up creative takes on the classics.

I came a couple of times and everything I’ve had was absolutely delicious. One day I went for the chicken and waffles which were very solid, and another the meat focused hash. Portion sizes are fantastic, everything is cooked perfectly, and there’s a good number of options to choose from.

The staff is super friendly, quick to offer suggestions and get anything you need. The place is mildly chess themed to fit in well into this historic chess focused part of town. Nothing too intense on the theming, but it’s there, and make sure you stop by the museum next door. There’s plenty of seating inside and out, and while the place gets busy, it doesn’t feel crowded.

Highly recommend checking out this wonderful place for a great plate of breakfast!

Visited St. Louis in April and ate here and it was amazing! Went on another road trip in December and had to stop by again! Highly recommend. The portion sizes are generous and the prices are very reasonable.

The restaurant was great..a little pricier than i thought it wold be but food and service was good...it was just a couple of tables of ladies that were a little loud and using foul language in a family diner..
