Kohns went down the toilet, and now they're closed. The lady that ran it was rude and arrogant and was one of the most unpleasant people I've ever had the misfortune to encounter. It's a shame they're history now, but I'm not one bit surprised.

No care for customers whatsoever
Times on Google are wrong
Once upon a time not so long ago Kohns was the kosher go to place ...NOT anymore since the retirement of the Kohn family and the sale to the new owners it's obvious they're anything but kosher ...So sad that in such a short time they've managed to put it down the toilet... Kohns is just a memory now it's crazy how they've trashed a once great place in record time

Was not a good experience. Nothing on the shelves, nothing in the meat counter. Deli meats were old and not flavorable. Microwaves were in constant use. Pastrami was bland. Worker’s did not greet us and several customers left when the did not get service. Horrible experience!
What a cute place. Half is grocery store. Other half is deli. Very good food and their selection of desserts yummy. Definitely will be back.

I've been to Kohn's many times while in St. Louis. I always purchase food to bring back to Iowa with me. I cannot believe the terrible experience I had this past Sunday. First of all, my sister and I stood in front of the deli case for 15 minutes before anyone helped us. There were 6 employees milling around. Only ONE was actually helping customers. Another employee was being blatantly rude to customers in front of us. Announcing they were out of pastrami because it was Sunday. What? I've been there many times on Sunday and gotten pastrami. They had no bread, no baked goods, and very few deli case offerings. Dips and hummus. Why are you open if you have nothing to sell? We still bought what we could. My sister purchased a half pint of hummus and one of egg salad (in the self-serve case). I also bought a pint of egg salad and a pint of potato salad from the counter to bring home. The hummus was delicious! The egg salad - which cost $11.50 - was spoiled. No way for me to return it from Iowa. I am so disappointed with the poor service - I doubt I go to Kohn's again. The food bunkers were mostly dark and empty. It looked like they were broke. I recognized several of the staff from previous trips, but only the ONE gentlemen was making any effort to help the people at the good counter. He was also running the fryer. An employee named Shelly kept interrupting him with annoying questions while he was slicing corned beef. (He had also previously been smoking the meats for Monday.) I know this deli was family owned and operated for decades. Now, I wish they would've just closed. What is going on there is NOT a tribute to the Kohn Legacy. It is really sad. I spent $50. A pound of pastrami is like $28. I don't have a lot of extra money, but I always spend some at my favorite STL spots. This was so disappointing:-(

Food is excellent, friendly atmosphere, sometimes the service can be slow, especially if you've ordered for pickup

It has changed owners now and I was not impressed as they had no corned beef or pastrami for sale or any of the food the original owners had plus they were charging $11.99 for just a hot dog. I do not see this place lasting at all. No home baked goods or bread. Very dissapointed.

Not sure if you need to wear a yarmulke or be extremely assertive, but we waited for 15 minutes in front of the place order here, without ever being acknowledged by the workers behind the counter or any of the employees passing by. Not sure about the food, but service was non existent.

My wife and I used to love Kohn's but our recent meal was one of the worst I've had at any restaurant. We both ordered the killer pastrami, one on rye and the other on wheat bread. In addition, we both ordered different sides, potato pancakes, and matzo ball soup. We've ordered this before a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.Instead what we got today was two thin, flavorless pastrami sandwiches, both on rye bread. We each received nothing but slaw as sides, no potato pancakes, and the matzo ball soup was ice cold with no seasoning and tasted like canned green beans. I'm not sure if things have drastically changed under the new owners or what, but we will never go here again.
