Kreis' Steakhouse & Bar

Food as usual did not disappoint, however this was the first time we had Dave as a server, and the services was subpar for what we are used to at Kreis" Steakhouse. Maybe it was just a bad not, but it was continuous throughout the evening, as well as waiting on our check for 15 minutes before having to ask for it.

Food was great. Service was slow at every stage. They were busy but it was a bit excessive. Waited about 10 minutes to be greeted by the server and 20+ minutes for the check. Server was very nice and food was good. Salad was bland but appetizers and prime rib were outstanding. I assume they did not have dessert since we were never offered.

Kreis's is a classic steakhouse and always a wonderful meal! The ambiance is a classic white table cloth steakhouse. The service is always top notch and the food is fresh and delicious every time. Highly recommend!

Wonderful food but it was a little slow coming to our table. They could do some updates to their restaurant.

Three of the four of us were very happy with our meal. The other member of the group ordered the prime rib, Queen's cut. He was unhappy that the prime rib was not warm. The waiter very courteously offered to replace his meal with another piece of prime rib. That was warmer but still not really as warm as desired. Otherwise, our meals were very good.

Unfortunately, one steak was basically raw - asked for medium rare. Crab and sauce on medallions was cold. Always love the atmosphere and our waiter was great. Not worth the cost this visit.

Dinner was amazing and server Mike was excellent. It was our anniversary and they were very kind in saying happy anniversary and getting a dessert. Always a great experience there.

Visiting from out of town & made 5 PM reservation several weeks in advance. We were first customers to arrive & surprised when placed in the back room at table near kitchen (poor ambience). Our waiter was wearing a face mask but did not explain why (was he sick or worried about getting sick?). My husband ordered prime rib medium rare and it was served rare so he had to send it back; I had twice baked potato that was so dried out I couldn’t eat it; when made waiter aware of this, he neither apologized or offerred to delete price from bill. Only positive was that the assistant waiter was very professional. We’d come from the theater & were expecting an upscale restaurant with ambience - very disappointed. Why would you seat your first customers of the day who had a reservation in the back room?! We won’t be back.

As always, prime rib delicious. Steak perfectly seasoned and grilled. Apple strudel that is mouthwatering. Service was nicely timed. Lovely evening.

Great restaurant - food & service. Large selection of menu items. Friendly & helpful staff. Food brought out timely. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.

My wife and I went to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary and it was truly amazing. We had Kurt as a server and he was awesome. I had the prime rib with a side of scallops and my wife had the New York strip. Both very delicious. The restaurant had an old timey charm to it. Like you went back in a time machine for a fine dining experience. 100% would recommend.

We arrived a little early and were promptly seated. Kurt, our waiter, immediately greeted us and took care of our needs. The food was excellent. Kurt and the rest of the wait staff were very attentive to our needs. With everyone's attention to detail it is easy to see why Kreis' has been the place for fine dining for 77 years.

We went to celebrate a birthday. Our first visit was sponsored by Monsanto when I interviewed in Feb 1981. While the faces have changed over time, the service, style and food quality are consistent and excellent. Amazingly so. We have had many visits to Kreis's over the decades and they have all been excellent. I never worry, whether I am taking visitors, colleagues, or family, the affair will be stellar and worth the cost. We hope the establishment will out last us, A great place for a last special dinner.

Get the Prime Rib - it was fantastic, best we ever had. Impeccable service from Kirk made for a great dinner. Can't wait to go back!

Food was delicious, well cooked and seasoned. Our second time eating there. However, next time I reserve a table, I will tell them that I would prefer to sit at the front. The front area seems more private and the ambiance is more romantic. The back dining area is brighter and much louder, more of a family gathering. The servers are well observant, water glass always refilled and always asking if everything is okay. Also, their amaretto cheesecake is to die for... 😋 yum!!
