Quick stop in St Louis on our way home to Oklahoma. We were within walking distance of this restaurant. So good! Excellent food and very reasonable prices. Very friendly staff.

This is my wife and I 1st time due to reading the reviews. I ordered the chimichunga and my wife ordered the tilapia. We really enjoyed the food and the chef even came out to ask how was our food. It was great. Also try the cantaloupe water.

I mean everything was delicious and authentic. Our waitress was pleasant and helpful. The service was good and the potions are plentiful for the price. My whole Tilapia was deep fried and delicious moist and well seasoned with crispy skin. My husband had the chimichanga said it was the best he ever had. Beautifully painted walls of a village countryside in Mexico. The seating is quaint and comfortable. We will be back and bring friends.

Stopped by for lunch for the first time, had three different types of tacos. Liked everything about the place. Food was great. Will be back.

It's a very small restaurant, so keep that in mind while going during busy hours, but the food was incredible! The tacos were very authentic. Highly recommend!

Staff was very friendly and helpful in discussing the menu. I ordered the steak and Al pastor tacos- per recommendation of the server. They are made on homemade tortillas and were very delicious! I typically go to El Bronco or El Torito for tacos… but I will absolutely be back here for more and it might be my new favorite on the street.

First time here and I immediately want to come back! The service was attentive and friendly, and all the food was top notch. The aguachile verde served with tostados and mayo was my favorite… I discovered that mayo is a game changer for aguachile, but I’ve never had aguachile served with it. (The mayo itself was very good too, that helped)Their salsa and the menudo were awesome. The beef fajitas were solid too, and a very good portion. I was also super happy with my Paloma. Great fresh handmade tortillas as wellThe staff seemed to know the other folks dining in, and so it had a great friendly neighborhood feel to it.

Now THIS is Mexican food! #stlouispescatarianapproved @stlouispescatarians on instagram La Manganita... Cherokee Street's hidden gem for authentic Mexican cuisine! The small, unassuming spot boasts a vibrant community atmosphere. Don't be fooled by the modest exterior--the aromas from the shawarma machine lure you in. The arroz con camarones is both massive and phenomenal, accompanied by a delightful array of perfectly spiced salsas. A must-try for Mexican food enthusiasts!

Authentic. Super nice staff. The food hits the spot. Small space - but perfect. Love it.

What a wonderful restaurant. I always like to patronize family owned restaurants. This is one of my favorites. The service and food are excellent. The owners young son was waiting tables the other day, you could not ask for a nicer more polite person than he was. Always a smile and always cheerful and checking on us to make sure that everything was okay. I've been to Mexico many times and find the food here to spot on authentic. This was certainly supported by the fact that we were the only non Mexican people in the restaurant.. GREAT JOB, thanks

Got chorizo, pastor and chicharon tacos. The chorizo and pastor were burnt and not flavorful. My friends got margaritas that were way too sweet. The corn tortillas were fresh made, which is better than prepackaged but were far from the best corn tortillas I’ve had. The servers were very nice. Overall, passable for a quick bite but look elsewhere for quality tacos.
